Start your week with the Three Martini Lunch as we dissect the good, the bad, and the crazy concerning the Nevada Democratic Caucuses. Join Jim and Greg as they experience more than a little bit of schadenfreude as Democrats thoroughly freak out over Bernie Sanders dominating the vote on Saturday. But they get more serious as ’60 Minutes’ and even CNN remind everyone how radical Sanders is and how he praised Fidel Castro and Marxists in Nicaragua and the Soviet Union. And they unload on Nevada Democrats for running terrible caucuses plagued by having too few officials to run some precincts effectively and still not finishing the vote totals by Monday morning.

Can’t imagine that anything could go wrong for the Dems with Bernie in the lead.

But really. Why does any supposedly conservative/republican pundit think it’s a good idea to give the democrats advice on how to beat trump? Especially if they think that advice might actually work???

Because they know nobody will follow the advice.

It just doesn’t seem worth the risk.

If only I could share in the fear (joy) that Bernie will be a disaster in the general election, but I don’t. Obviously he could win and that is what has me fearful. In a way, it’s not that ridiculous, how much less of a socialist was Barrack Obama anyways? I guess Bernie just more openly embraces Stalinism (which is of course scary). The real scary thing is can we now have someone who openly calls themselves a communist win the Democrat nomination. But of course never Trumpers are like, ‘yeah, burn it down. Trump largely governs in the way that I want, but I don’t like the things he says, his looks, and his general demeanor!’

Yea, Saskatchewan is just brutal in February… It’ll get up to +2 here today… it was something like -13 overnight… So a pretty nice day. I noticed my trash can is iced down to the driveway, so I’ll have to salt it and melt the ice down – so that I can roll the can down to spot where the garbage engineer will pick it up…

There was a black lady who did stand up (I forget her name) who had a bit about doing appearances in Winnipeg in February. “Winnipeg is north of Chicago, and in February, its the opposite of going south of hell in August.”

Some of them actually insist that what Trump says is more important than what he does. Perhaps it’s just a desperate rationalization to protect them from having to say they were wrong.

Some of them come up with long and convoluted chains of causation, wherein a Democratic victory will somehow be better for the cause of freedom, “in the long run”.

If the economy goes south, Sanders could easily win. On the other hand, if Sanders is the Democratic candidate, the Fed is less likely to do something to the economy to help him defeat Trump.
