Hey, we made it to Friday! Join Jim and Greg as they applaud cities and states for gearing up for the worst of coronavirus before it hits. They also cringe as Washington, D.C., officials claim the COVID-19 peak may not come there until late June or early July. And they call for a common sense review as sheriff’s officials in southern California arrest a man for defying state orders by paddle boarding in the ocean by himself.

The guys are right to ridicule California police for arresting a man for paddle boarding in the ocean by himself.
But remember, Jim Geraghty is always wrong (about something).
What he missed was, while paddle boarding by yourself carries no risk of coronavirus infection, that is emphatically not the case for: arresting and booking somebody.
That’s right, to suppress an activity that does not spread disease, California mandates activities that do spread disease.
I would enjoy this a hell of a lot more if you dialed back the “Knocking Doors Down” ads. It (because it is the same every time) repeats about four times and is loud, louder than your dialog, with a noisy drumbeat something or other to make sure we stay awake. So much for the subscribe and avoid ads pitch.
I know you need to pay the bills but this is overkill. Enough already!
Technically, I don’t think Three Martini Lunch is a Ricochet production. More likely it’s a production of, and originally paid for by, Radio America. So maybe if you subscribed to Radio America (however that might be done, if it’s even an option) then maybe you would get it commercial-free. Having it appear on Ricochet seems like basically a courtesy, a convenience for Ricochet members to get another “show” without having to sign up for another site. Like was the case with Mad Dogs and Englishmen, a production of National Review, before NR apparently changed things up so much that Ricochet no longer cross-hosts it.
Obviously infecting the plankton would be a problem, because then they can’t make Soylent Green any more.
Oh, wait…
