Remembering Reagan with Col. Steven Chealander

Colonel Chealander, President Reagan’s right-hand man and Military Aide during his second term, was responsible for the President’s emergency briefcase (“the football”) and being at his side during history’s most pivotal moments including the Berlin Wall speech. Col. Chealander shares personal stories of intimate conversations and the personal side of President Reagan that even many of his biggest fans have never heard. If listening, make sure you check out the video for all the pictures.

Oh, wow! You just outdid yourself on this one Dave. I cried when he was talking about his father and Berlin. Thank you for this wonderful interview to remind us how thankful we to should be have men like this willing to serve their country.

I will third that motion. That was a great interview! I hope you don’t mind my mentioning my own close brush with W. Here my Dad receives the National Medal of Technology for his work on GPS.

Here I am just to the right of my Dad (C-SPAN showed my bald spot that day):

Yes it was so moving, and years later the tough Aviators voice still cracks telling his story. Thanks :)

A great interview! I love that his friends ribbed him that the model for him at Reagan’s Air Force One had hair!

(I have started shaving my head, which is a trip, shaving the back of my head by feel.)
