Mark Weinstein is the Founder and CEO of the revolutionary social network MeWe, and MeWePro. Mark served on President Obama’s ‘Steering Committee’ overseeing internet privacy and he single-handedly prevented the Obama Administration from creating the Orwellian sounding ‘National Identity Database’. Mark Weinstein is a leading privacy advocate, is one of the inventors of social media and is ranked as one of the “Top 8 Minds in Online Privacy.” Mark has written about privacy and the social media industry in many well-known publications including HuffPo, USA Today, and the Daily Mirror (UK). He has been interviewed by many media outlets, including Forbes, CNN International, Fox News, and ABC. Mark is often a featured keynote speaker and expert social media/privacy panelist at conferences worldwide.

Mark and Dave discuss the state of social media today and Mark openly shares his concerns about Facebook, calling them a ‘dirty player’, saying the two-billion member platform isn’t a social media company, but a data company. We discuss Mark Zuckerberg’s visit to Congress, how Cambridge Analytica may be just the beginning of Facebook user’s privacy concerns and whether social media should be regulated by the government.

Weme sounds pretty cool. After I look into it a bit more, I expect to be an advocate (not that that will help too much).

totally will look into WeMe So glad to have an alternative.

As to the podcast. Did you HAVE to sit outside in the wind?? Really distracting! Such a great podcast but such sound problems that could have been avoided. Keep professional! How do I get anyone else to take you seriously if your podcast is not professional. Just a comment…..
