Great to hear a reference to Starblazers and Space Battleship Yamato. Naturally, I have the 2010 live action movie on blu-ray (imported from Hong Kong). Yes, I am that big a nerd.

I can attest to the Navy in VA Beach (I was stationed there) but I didn’t notice a big evangelical presence. Maybe I was just oblivious.

Maybe they can do Yesterday next week? The most interesting movie premise of the year, and they talk about yet another Spiderman movie.

Doesn’t this require a change to the podcast title? Maybe something like “Sub-Beacon Plus Sonny?”

It’s also worth noting that the newly-refurbished Mission Control room for the Apollo 11 flight and several others, is now open as a historical museum type thing.

Funny. I guess I assumed the guys must be knowledgeable about classic movies. But the discussion of The Great Escape finally made the scales fall from my eyes.

But then, some of the guys had recommended the atrocious John Wick 3, which establishes their mental age at about 12.

Funny that one of the guys denigrated Charles Bronson’s East European accent in TGE. Here’s Wikipedia:

“Bronson learned to speak English when he was a teenager; before that, he spoke Lithuanian and Russian.”

This is the kind of movie reviewing, sadly common, that doesn’t actually require seeing the movie, but just telling your readers what they already think they know.

I said this having not seen Far from Home yet, which turned out to have been quite fun.
