We already see the red flags. They’re all around. I don’t know the specifics of the exchange between Powell and the Tucker show. Perhaps Powell did “get angry”; perhaps she didn’t. Who knows? Either way, we’ll all know one way or another very soon if they have what they say they have: either the detail they claim to have will be presented in court or it won’t. We’ll see.

Speak for yourself, Ed. WE do not see them “all around.” Read the people I posted excerpts from in my previous comment. Hinderaker, McCarthy, Ericsson, York — these are not CNN or MSNBC journalists. These are our guys and they are not buying what the President and his team are selling. You can ignore it — that’s up to you. But it’s not going to change it.

Red flags are not proof. They are indicators. The IRS uses red flags to sample filed returns for inquiry and/or audit, for example. Of course there are indicators in every election if anyone wants to look. This election people are looking, and there are bigger flags than I usually notice.

Red flags are not proof. Are you seriously claiming that there are no red flags even?

So I think it’s significant that she is not repeating in court what she says on TV where there are actual penalties for lawyers presenting false evidence — including disbarment or even jail.

I thought the criticism was that she was not saying on TV what she was planning to say in court.

I’m not certain I have any f-ing clue what I’m supposed to have “proof” of anymore.

Multiple, contradictory studies, and I’m supposed to accept as “proof” masks work.

Some historian tells me Troy exists and I’m supposed to believe him without even the slightest evidence provided to convince me.

But there is no evidence of fraud in this election.

It’s not that I can’t be wrong. It’s that Blue Yeti and the national media can’t  be wrong. Clearly, they are better than me, so I should believe them.

    Or something.

Blue Yeti, aren’t you tired of Trump talk on GLOP? I sure am. I’ve stopped listening to Jonah’s podcasts. He’s like a tired old broken record.

Jonah mentioned my view on this in passing on the podcast. I was tempted to cut it, but I left it in for posterity.

Wow, what a great word! It’s a new one for me. Thanks, @drewinwisconsin!

I think my allegedly-Lutheran grandmother was secretly Jewish.

I have one of those in my family tree, too. I’m the only one that is suspicious.

My family comes from southwestern and northwestern Poland. It’s entirely possible, plausible even, that we have Jewish roots at least mixed in with the Roman Catholicism.

Here’s my red flag: our family has always made braided egg bread with raisins for Easter. We have always called it babka; way back to my parents time. I’ve come to find out in recent years that “babka” has Jewish connotations and seems to mostly refer to cakey stuff while the other Polish word for what we make is “houska”.

Or maybe it’s just like the difference between “soda” or “pop” (or “coke” for the southerners).

As said to Yeti directly. Powell is a very seasoned lawyer and successful. I doubt that she would be fabricating anything. I suspect, as she says, she has massive evidence of her claims. I posted her response today once. I think I’ll do it again.

Yes, she indeed says she has massive evidence of her claims and Maria Bartiromo does not push back on that claim at all. Powell would not receive that level of obeisance from Tucker and she knows it. He’d push for the backup.

Which is why she isn’t on his show, which has a MUCH bigger audience.

I personally don’t care about presenting evidence on TV. I care about presenting evidence in court where something will or will not be done about it. We’ll find out soon the extent of what they have or don’t have – why the premature bashing?

Giuliani made a complete fool of himself in the court room a few days ago.

Giuliani and Powell are playing for the cameras to manipulate the MAGA crowd.  They don’t have any expectation of winning anything in court.

They just want you to donate your money to Trump’s legal defense fund so that they (Giuliani and Powell) can get paid huge legal fees.  That’s not conservatism.  That’s just a scam led by Trump and his minions.

I personally don’t care about presenting evidence in court.   This is a battle for public opinion.

If a court hears the evidence and makes a ruling in Trumps favor, people will ignore if they think it’s a railroad job.  Look how many people still think Bush was “selected, not elected”.

Winning in court is much less important than convincing enough people watching TV that something bad happened (if it did).

Sadly, true. If they win in court but the press adopts the “TRUMP STOLE ELECTION RAR!” narrative, it really won’t matter.

The press has been lying about the President for more than four years. It’s why we are where we are. They are too powerful.

    For 2 reasons.

One is so that the MAGA crowd will donate their money to Trump’s legal defense fund, which will pay Giuliani and Powell huge legal fees.  Rumor has it that Giuliani is being paid by Trump’s legal defense fund about 20,000 dollars a day.  Not a bad income for losing just about every court case in this post-election litigation contest.

Two is that if you can convince enough MAGA folks that the election was stolen, that provides Trump and his staunchest allies the ability to say, “I’m not a loser.  I didn’t actually lose to Biden.”  This provides Trump has his allies with more influence in the years to come if they can sell their narrative.

As to film criticism, Sonny seems (to me) utterly inundated with boredom for the subject both of the films being reviewed and of his own reviews. To my perception, he seems this way also in his Friday interaction with Hugh Hewitt.

    I hope I am wrong

I assume the fact that Sonny was out of a job (he and his whole family moved to Texas for a gig that ended up disappearing) had a lot to do with his joining the Bulwark. I actually think it’s very sweet that JVL helped him get a new job. (I never read any of his stuff but dearly loved The Sub-Beacon, may it rest in peace.)

    Heavy,

Giuliani and Powell both have a long track record of winning their court cases. The Trump crowd, as you call it, was 72,000,000 people who were probably 90,000,000 when properly tabulated. If you are looking for a scam, I’d check out the money-grubbing weasels at the Lincoln Project. Just remember, if you get too close to those guys, hold onto your wallet. They have a serious cash addiction and would run over your grandmother (or anybody’s grandmother) for $5.

So how about they trade places, what do you think, Franco?

Dennis Miller’s podcast is going away too. He scrubbed his social media accounts or at his twitter page.

He said the country had had it when Obama beat Romney in 2012. Dennis had an actual successful 15-hour per week radio show for eight years, not a podcast. He came back for awhile for about 45 minutes twice a week, but he said that the country was in deep trouble even if Trump won as he wondered who was going to have the will to fight back when Trump is gone.

American conservatives from the Northeast just want to fight the conservatives who live elsewhere.

I listened to the radio show in podcast form, back when that was on.  They also did some “extra content” during that time which was podcast-only.

The latest podcast-only “show” has been around for just over 2 years, I think.

Don’t really understand why Dennis Miller decided to run and hide.

Dennis sometimes fancies himself as “shrugging” in the fashion of Atlas Shrugged, but doesn’t seem to be aware that in the Randian sense, he isn’t one of those who gets to “shrug.”  He doesn’t actually produce anything tangible, not even the ideas for other people to make tangible things from.

His “shrugging” comes down to not making as much money as he COULD, thereby “starving the beast” of some additional revenue.  But if he was really serious about that, he would get the hell out of California.

To me that sounds more like what happened.  Not sure what the basis was.  Maybe he didn’t pay enough to google to get his venture featured in searches?

That said, though, I would never move halfway across the country just to start a new job/business like that, unless maybe if someone bought the new house FOR me, free and clear.  At least that way there’s some security if things fizzle.
