    https://stream.org/i-know-sidney-powell-she-is-telling-the-truth/

Non-partisan legal expert Jonathan Turley is one of the few reliable commentators left out there. He observed after watching the press conference that Powell and the rest of the president’s team took a similar risk today. They accused a massive corporation, Dominion, with links to friendly billionaires like Soros and many foreign governments, of felonies. Of colluding with corrupt election officials to steal the White House.

If these charges are false, their careers are finished. If defamation lawsuits get launched — and I don’t see how Dominion has any choice but to file them, or go bankrupt — Sidney Powell could lose her house and her license to practice law. She’d be a pauper. The same is true of Ellis, Giuliani, and anyone else on the president’s team. But only if the charges are unsupported and untrue.

Given the death threats to election officials in Michigan, and the doxing of their children, for refusing to certify a corrupt election, I’d say Ms. Powell is risking a lot more than money.

Powell and Giuliani are putting their entire livelihoods on the line here and the only thing they get is ridicule.

I know who has earned my respect. Now, if they are wrong and they continue to be successful and prosperous in their careers, I’ll know they are no different than JPod, Jonah, David, and the rest of the punditocracy that never suffer the consequences for being wrong.

The good news for all concerned (the guys, the audience, ME) is that for all intensive purposes, this will end on its own accord in January.

I for one, am looking forward to it.

    Nothing ever ends.

As Mark Levin has said, conservatism is all about explaining and educating — and fighting back like Trump, one of the few Republicans willing to fight back.

It will not end.  It will probably get worse.  It will only end if the Right surrenders as the Left isn’t going anywhere.

There will be no James Monroe Era of Good Feelings.

As to your spurious claims that Sidney Powell has to produce hard evidence on Tucker’s ( now failing ) show before presenting it in a legal venue, and conclude that she therefore has no evidence since she declined, dovetails nicely with all the other misunderstandings and conflicting notions you hold.

Yes, I’m quite sure there’s a good reason why she hasn’t shown any evidence in a legal venue: because a lawyer can be disbarred for presenting false evidence in a court. On the other hand, there is no penalty for saying anything on a cable news show. So if she can’t go on Tucker’s show, that is telling.

They are doing nothing of the sort — they’re lawyers — this is what they do. They are (reportedly) being extremely well compensated for it. Whether or not Rudy Giuliani wants $20,000 per day as the New York Times reported, it is safe to conclude he expects to be well compensated for his work for the Trump campaign. He has a financial interest in dragging out proceedings for as long as possible.

My take away was Tucker was telling Powell this is a extremely monumental allegation so you better start showing the public you actually have the goods.

Yes, that was exactly my point in posting this clip, and more importantly, the point made in this podcast with the Glen Glengarry Glen Ross leads example.

I haven’t actually listened to the Mean Girl podcast for some time … I just enjoy jumping on the comment board to heckle Regina, Karen, and Gretchen.

Trump has converted much of the Republican party into a party of lunatic conspiracy theorists. After all this is over, it will be harder to communicate a message to the public that says, “The Left isn’t in touch with reality.”

Trump is a kook and he is incentivizing kookiness within the GOP. If you aren’t willing to go full bore kook with Trump, you aren’t “on the team.”

    Meanwhile, back on planet Earth…

John Hinderaker, Powerline: Do Trump’s Lawyers Know What They’re Doing?

This is a catastrophic error, the kind of thing that causes a legal position to crash and burn. Trump’s lawyers are fighting an uphill battle, to put it mildly, and confusing Michigan with Minnesota will at best make the hill steeper. Credibility once lost is hard to regain. Possibly Trump’s lawyers have already discovered this appalling error, and have undertaken to correct it. But the Ramsland Affidavit was filed in Georgia just yesterday.

Andrew C. McCarthy, National Review: Checkmate in Pennsylvania for the Trump Campaign

To cut to the chase, all that remains of the Trump campaign’s complaint is the claim that voters in pro-Trump counties were denied equal protection of law because mail-in voters in pro-Biden counties — mainly Philadelphia and Allegheny counties (Pittsburgh is in the latter) — were invited by election boards to cure defects in their ballots. Even if there were arguably merit to this claim (doubtful), it may only involve a few hundred votes, and certainly not more than a few thousand. That’s not enough. By current count, presumptive president-elect Biden leads President Trump by 83,000 votes.

    Erick Erickson:

Dominion does not have ties to the Clinton team or George Soros despite claims to the contrary.

There is literally zero evidence about Dominion Voter Systems and each time Powell and Guiliani have been given the opportunity to present it publicly, they have declined claiming their witnesses would be harassed.

Well, time is running out. If they truly have what they claim to have, they will need to go to court. My guess is they will claim any judge they go before is in on the theft of the election and that’s why he would not consider their evidence.

At this point, I find this both deeply harmful and bordering on malicious. I would not be surprised if Dominion Voter Systems files a defamation claim against them. My suspicion is that this is payback for the Democrats’ treatment of Trump after 2016 and a whole lot of people want to be lied to and will believe it all despite zero evidence.

Nope, I do not believe this conspiracy theory. It is just that — a conspiracy theory. It will not stop Joe Biden’s inauguration and the GOP would be wise to move on from a deeply destructive lie that only exists to settle pre-existing grievances about the 2016 election.

    Byron York, Washington Examiner

GROWING CONCERN ABOUT TRUMP LEGAL FIGHT:Thursday’s news conference by Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and Jenna Ellis marked a turning point of sorts in the way some Republicans view the president’s challenge to election results around the country. Among those Republicans — Trump supporters all — there is concern that the attorneys’ sensational theories of election fraud are hurting the president’s cause rather than helping it.

Most worrisome was Powell’s presentation. The lawyer — who had earned the admiration of many for her bold and determined representation of former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn — told reporters that Joe Biden’s wins in some key states was the result of “the massive influence of communist money through Venezuela, Cuba, and likely China in the interference with our elections here in the United States.” The Dominion voting system and Smartmatic software used in the interference, Powell continued, was “created in Venezuela at the direction of Hugo Chavez” to corrupt elections there. “President Trump won by a landslide,” Powell concluded. “We are going to prove it.”

But Powell did not prove it. She did not even allege with any specificity what she believes actually happened in the election. Powell said the Venezuelan software has the “ability to flip votes” and “can set and run an algorithm that probably ran all over the country to take a certain percentage of votes from President Trump and flip them to President [sic] Biden, which we might never have uncovered had the votes for President Trump not been so overwhelming in so many of these states that it broke the algorithm that had been plugged into the system, and that’s what caused them to have to shut down in the states they shut down in.”

    Yeti,

I think this rap against Powell is crap. She is very experienced and I doubt she would be saying these things without the legal ammunition to back them up. What do you say we give Powell a chance to speak to Tucker’s overheated reaction.

    Regards,

    Jim

I listened to some of the selected non-Trump ones.  Those were good to OK.

However, I am always amazed at how anti-Trump Jonah is and how narrow his podcast guest list is.

Looking at his Twitter fees, Jonah is annoyed that former The Weekly Standard senior writer Philip Terzian doesn’t continue to bow down to Bill Kristol who went completely off the deep end in 2017 endorsing KKK/Blackface infanticider Ralph Northam.

Jonah also re-tweets the stats of…

“Let’s look at some absentee voting history.

    2012: Obama received 87,487

    2016: Clinton received 98,417

    2020: Biden received 849,182″

Yes, she indeed says she has massive evidence of her claims and Maria Bartiromo does not push back on that claim at all.  Powell would not receive that level of obeisance from Tucker and she knows it. He’d push for the backup.

Which is why she isn’t on his show, which has a MUCH bigger audience.

Brian, Brian, Brian. Sidney Powell is a lawyer doing a cable TV hit. There are no restraints or penalties for saying anything on TV. So I think it’s significant that she is not repeating in court what she says on TV where there are actual penalties for lawyers presenting false evidence — including disbarment or even jail.

I know this is going to sound harsh, and you’ll be angry at me for saying it, but here goes: You are being manipulated. They are trying to rally public opinion to pressure the courts and election officials to decide in their favor. It’s sad and it’s not going to work.

At some point, R’s in the Senate, including Mitch McConnell –who have zero interest in being in the minority– are going to step in and put a stop to this once they determine that is it starting to affect the races in GA. I would expect that to occur no later than the first week in December.
