Oh no, is it the glass-top coffee table story again?
As it is wont to do, Fox News was recently showing a clip of a CNN panel in which one of the panelists was saying something more ridiculous than usual.
On the far left of the panel, I caught a glimpse of a silent Jonah Goldberg.
And the question suddenly came to my mind, do modern progressives still use the old Communist term, “useful idiot”?
I suppose that, at least for now, their checks clear.
Mona Charen wrote the book twenty years ago and then turned into one.
Hmm, seems like maybe Jonah did the same eh?
Maybe they both believe it’s worth it to toe the establishment line, in return for the occasional opportunity to drop a word or two of conservative thought into the conversation.
here is an example of AI generated information is really bad – how it “made up” information on Matt Taibbi

TDS broke Jonah so badly that he now at least partly disavows his own book, “Liberal Fascism.”
Jonah had the choice of admitting he had been wrong about Trump (which would have been painful) — or doubling down on his criticism.
The typical Never-Trumper ignores what Trump actually did as President, and instead builds elaborate structures of speculation based on words taken out of context from Trump’s jokes and wisecracks.
See, for example, the unintentionally comical special issue of The Atlantic that offers wild speculation about what Trump will do if he wins his second term.
what is amazing about the never trumpers is that they are for Biden, who has all of the same issue that they complained about Trump – Biden is a loud mouth demagogue who’s family have been performing a grift for decades.
Agree. I’ve said many times that those guys pushing a Bootyjudge, Warren, etc. would be wrong but I might understand. As you said, Biden is everything they claim Trump is.
The Afghanistan debacle put Joe Biden below 50% approval for the first time.
“You can’t fool all of the people, all of the time.” A portion of the public suddenly realized that it wasn’t Trump who didn’t listen to advice and acted rashly, as they had constantly been told. It was Biden.
“You can fool some of the people, all of the time.” The 2024 election will be a race between the media telling people Biden is better than Trump; and reality telling them Trump is better than Biden.
According to C.S. Lewis you an fool some educated people all of the time.
Link to (but relevant) flagrant self-promotion.
Oh, and I find it difficult to believe that Norman Podhoretz wouldn’t understand what a browser is.
But just think, if Dwight Schultz had been on St Elsewhere, maybe The A Team would have been a flop without him.
