Join Ricochet; Appear as Guest on Fox News

Shawn Buell on Real Story Gretchen CarlsonMaybe you’ve heard Rob Long or Peter Robinson, our illustrious founders, say that “Ricochet is read in the corridors of power,” but thought it sounded like a sales pitch. I’ll believe it when I see it, you said.

Don’t believe us? Ask Shawn Buell, aka Majestyk, whose Main Feed post yesterday, “Actual Analysis Indicates We Aren’t Doomed,” so interested Fox News that they asked him to come on The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson this afternoon.

Would you like to be a guest on Fox News? Well, you have to become a member of Ricochet first. (We’ve got room for those who don’t care about being guests on TV shows, too.)

Great job Majestyk! I just hope you are right in your analysis.

That said on a kind of unrelated not, is it just me or does anyone else find it strange to hear peoples real names after you so get used to their Ricochet alias?  I wonder if in the future all of us will have an alternate online personality that becomes effectively our middle or nick name, so as to give people a better sense of who we are both on and off line.

…plus Thatcher Level members get to spend a week in Rupert Murdoch’s guest house. Reagan Level members get to spend that week with Daisy Ridley.

In that frozen video still, Trump looks like he’s auditioning to play Tevye in “Fiddler”.

I also find it strange after reading the aliases for all of these years. If I attended a meeting of the Justice League of America, I’d be surprised if they called each other Clark, Bruce and Diana.

I got an email from a friend at Fox News today and our conversation went like this:

Him:  Do you have a Shawn Buell at Ricochet?

    Me:  No.

Him:  Well, he’s on air right now.

    Me: Awesome!  How’s he doing?

    Him:  Very well!

    Nice job, Majestyk!

Bonus points if you go on next time as Majestyk, not Shawn Buell.

My first thought was “Does this count as outing?” I bet the editors cleared it with him first, but I’m curious how others feel about your online identity being revealed without your consent.

It’s fine.  I discussed the matter extensively with Jon and Tom.  I think I’m safe as far as “outing” goes.

By the way, thanks for pointing out the huge difference in population sizes between Nevada and SC.  The 46% for Trump in Nevada was really demoralizing when I first saw it.  Thanks for putting that into perspective.  Illustrating your point by pointing out that Carson got more votes in SC than Trump got in Nevada was brilliant.

Even though he’d already been “outed” on live national television, Tom did still check with him beforehand.

Actually I think they do call her Diana or at least in more recent comic where she is less about having an alias? But I agree. By the way I call being Martian Manhunter.

Congrats, Majestyk! Hopefully, its the start of a nice sideline career for you.

Your profile says that you graduated from the CO School of Mines. My wife and I have driven past the big mountainside “M” a few times. Since seeing the “M”, I’ve been curious about the place.

The one critique of your performance. You didn’t plug the website enough. Should have worn a Ricochet tie, hat, and been drinking from the mug. Branding! That is the key. Plaster your name everywhere.
