Join Ricochet; Appear as Guest on Fox News

Shawn Buell on Real Story Gretchen CarlsonMaybe you’ve heard Rob Long or Peter Robinson, our illustrious founders, say that “Ricochet is read in the corridors of power,” but thought it sounded like a sales pitch. I’ll believe it when I see it, you said.

Don’t believe us? Ask Shawn Buell, aka Majestyk, whose Main Feed post yesterday, “Actual Analysis Indicates We Aren’t Doomed,” so interested Fox News that they asked him to come on The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson this afternoon.

Would you like to be a guest on Fox News? Well, you have to become a member of Ricochet first. (We’ve got room for those who don’t care about being guests on TV shows, too.)

The Vicar of Ricochet. This could be the traveling title of those making the “big time”.

    Great Job Majestyk Shaun!

I’m sorry I didn’t jump into reading and connecting with the Not-Doomed post. I’ll try to get back to it.

Truth: I like hearing the description of your charts. I love the donut one!

Valiuth:The one critique of your performance. You didn’t plug the website enough. Should have worn a Ricochet tie, hat, and been drinking from the mug. Branding! That is the key. Plaster your name everywhere.

A part of me thinks that too much Rico promo might have made his analysis less credible, and more of a PR gig.

The trick is to share the link to the Fox broadcast, with a clear connection to Ricochet. And for someone on Ricochet to be watching for outstanding analysis to send to folks in the media.

Do you think Fox was enamored with his analysis? or the combination that he is not a paid hack but a thinking voter?

How many of us stumbled upon Rico when following up on a mention or a post?

    Thanks again Majestyk!

They were fascinated by my excel spreadsheet and charts.  Really.

They got very excited when I showed them what I had and wanted me to explain their contents on air.

you did a good job explaining it. I hadn’t read your post, but the pictures and your words captured me.

Very nice job Shawn, you looked like an old pro, only younger and better looking!

This was a nice cap off to watching the debate in which The Donnitude got a double swirly from his east and west!

Valiuth: Actually I think they do call her Diana or at least in more recent comic where she is less about having an alias?

The question is, which Ricochet member is actually Diana?

    Obviously it’s Claire.

Yes, she could kick all of our tails.

The whole “I don’t understand charts – math is hard!” shtick was trying, and you did well, Majestyk, not to roll your eyes, slap your forehead, and make ‘stupid’ noises.

Can I just add, as an aside, how refreshing it is when both reporter and commentator speak in declarative rather than pointlessly and witlessly interrogative sentences?

I love “Professional Engineer” under your image. Again: so cool!

They asked me what I wanted to appear on the Chyron and a lot of thoughts started to go through my head, but I settled on P.E.

That’s just how I speak, if you cant tell. :)

My wife and I collaborated on the graphics and she was against the pie chart, but the Fox people seemed fascinated and wanted me to explain their contents.

Regular people seem to think in pictures, not numbers.  Television is also a visual medium and I was shooting for something easy to grok.
