Donald Trump Indicted by Manhattan Grand Jury

The story is here.

There is an old saying which goes something like this: Be careful what you wish for; you just might get it.

I have made my opinion clear when this was just a potential indictment. Now that the loons have made the leap the best I can do is quote one of their oiliest, sleaziest “leaders”, Schumer, and observe that they just may reap more whirlwind than they could ever imagine.

Elon Musk said this would assure a Trump Presidency II. I’m inclined to believe that may well be the case.

This is an abject disgrace.

I have pragmatic reasons for not questioning the results of elections.

If conservatives become convinced that elections are rigged while “progressives” are convinced that elections aren’t rigged, the result is likely to be that conservatives decide to withdraw from politics, realizing that their efforts don’t make a difference given the rigged nature of elections while “progressives” continue to donate and volunteer and vote in elections.

The results is more election victories for the Left, the exact opposite of what conservatives should desire.

That’s why I avoid talk about rigged elections.

This only makes sense if you actually believe that nothing is rigged, in which case it is superfluous. This is after-the-decision rationalizing of an existing sub-rational decision.

You don’t believe in election rigging because you do not want to believe, because it is too upsetting to your world-view. And if you never admit it, then you never have to deal with the cognitivie dissonance.

One guy once told me that he thought that the moon landing was faked. I told him that there was no way I could convince him that the moon landing was legit and that I didn’t think it was worth my time to try to convince him that the moon landing was legit.

Some people are mentally imbalanced and there isn’t anything one can do to get them to think rationally.

Utterly non-responsive distraction UNLESS you mean that you are the irrational moon-truther.

I am talking about the basic logic underneath your position.  What you said makes no sense.  You purport to explain the origin of a position, but all you offer is necessarily post-hoc rationalization.  There is no way that the chain of logic you expressed can lead to your point of view.

Ah, so to believe that the election was rigged signals “mental imbalance.”

Or, perhaps, the ability to read.

Also, if elections are as rigged as some hint that they are, why bother nominating anyone to be president in 2024, given that the deep state has already made up its mind?

Yes. Why bother nominating anyone until we can fix the fraud? Oh, but the GOP insists there is no fraud. 2020 was the “cleanest most secure election ever!”

I was thinking about this point last night. Why is it significant that Trump paid the woman from his personal account rather than his campaign account? Because, in theory, it means the election was influenced by his doing so, by his “hushing” her. Never Trumpers, are you questioning the 2016 election? But I thought no one was allowed to question elections because doing so would shake the foundations of our republic.

I didn’t vote for Trump or Hillary or Biden in 2016 and 2020. So, I’ll take this question

That’s why I avoid talk about rigged elections. If someone want to propose a voter ID law to cut down on fraud, that’s cool. But when conservatives take a catastrophic outlook, the result is often less effectiveness among conservatives.

This isn’t a time to jump off of a bridge. We need to get ready for the 2024 election. For pragmatic reasons we should act as though the 2024 election will not be rigged. If it isn’t rigged, we might win.

I’m sorry, but if you are an American that either doesn’t vote, or votes for obvious loser also-rans, why should anyone care what you think about this situation?

But in another sense, if Ron DeSantis wins the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, then the presidential contest will be a 46 year old Ron DeSantis against an 81 year old Joe Biden, instead of a 78 year old Donald Trump and an 81 year old Joe Biden.

DeSantis isn’t running for President. Your princess is in another castle.

It sure seems like DeSantis is running for president, even if he hasn’t announced yet.

But the fact is, he’s not. And pinning all your hopes on DeSantis possibly entering the race and then possibly winning the race two years from now shows a lack of seriousness about addressing our problems TODAY. It’s a distraction. “Just wait until 2024!” As if the country can wait that long. And I’ve heard it all before anyway. Just wait until we control the Senate! Just wait until we control the White House! Just wait . . . just wait . . . just wait . . . we’ll get ’em next time! It’s a sad cope that doesn’t recognize the danger we’re in.

(And of course, the Democrats’ fraud organization won’t allow DeSantis to win even if he does run.)

Go to war with the army you have, not the army you wish you had.

I don’t understand what course of action you are suggesting.

Are you saying that we should all write letters to the DA and tell him to drop the charges while at the same time we shouldn’t even bother participating in the 2024 election because the Democrats have rigged all elections from now until forever?

    No, he isn’t.

DeSantis must resign as governor to announce. I could easily live with four more years like the first four under Trump and I could also love watching Dem schemes fail with a Trump re-election.

The Establicons are worried that if they fix election fraud, then some “America First” Republican or a member of the “Freedom Caucus” might get elected. And they surely don’t want that. That might put an end to their graft.

Oh I don’t know. In the last election cycle, our governor Inslee ran for president on a climate change panic!!! first agenda and got . . .  what, <1% of the primary vote? But at least he was the heck outta the state a lot, so he could do less damage than if he’d stayed home and given “proper attention” to us long suffering Washingtonians.

What do you mean? Trump wouldn’t be elected until 2024 either. DeSantis is acting like a guy who is running for President and will likely announce soon. I don’t understand what you mean about the army we have. Only 3 candidates have announced.

DeSantis must resign as governor to announce. I could easily live with four more years like the first four under Trump and I could also love watching Dem schemes fail with a Trump re-election.

I don’t know what the progress of the bill is, but there’s a Florida bill to remove the prohibition of governors running for other offices during their term.

I don’t support changing laws back and forth every for years depending on who is in office.

Right.  This is how we wound up with SecRaytheon Austin.
