Ron DeSantis Violates Our Precious Political Norms Once Again
Florida Legislature and Governors: “Here are the new laws we, the people’s elected representatives, have passed to regulate abortions and outlaw sex change procedures on minor children.”
Democrat State Attorney Andrew Warren: “I refuse to enforce these laws.”
Florida Governor Ron De Santis: “You’re Fired*, clean out your desk and see HR for your COBRA forms.”
“When you flagrantly violate your oath of office, when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty, you have neglected your duty and you are displaying a lack of competence to be able to perform those duties,” DeSantis said at a news conference in the county sheriff’s office.
“And so today we are suspending State Attorney Andrew Warren effective immediately.”
* OK, suspended. Whatever.

There is a kind of high that comes from being self-righteous, particularly when it includes joining another team that is eager to have you as a newly enlightened, open-minded hero misunderstood by “your own people.”
That should usually be a warning sign that you may be embracing the martyrdom thing a little too enthusiastically. That kind of thrill can really cloud your judgement.
Plus, they will drop you instantly if you become of no use to them.
Which will be a good thing.
Well, you turn into a non-person pretty quickly if you have no propaganda value.
When was the last time you heard about Cindy Sheehan?
That’s really interesting. Supporters of Liz Cheney often point out that she has been a staunch conservative and stands up for conservative principles despite her opposition to and vote to impeach Trump. What in the world is not to like about Ron DeSantis from a conservative perspective? It would seem that Cheney has taken a complete dive into Lincoln Project territory and is rapidly becoming a Leftist. Thankfully we will not hear much from her after November.
Insert Ohio vs World meme here:
Given that her moment of fame came because she lost a son, she might just be okay with that.
After W left the White House, she started badgering The Won about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. She protested in Martha’s Vineyard in 2009 while Obama was staying there. She protested in Oslo when Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize. The media took her megaphone away. She had ceased to be useful.
She is the next Ross Perot.
Without the helicopter rescue. Which, you know. It was pretty cool.
I gave her credit for that. Her protests continued when Barry took over. The feckless media wasn’t interested.
I’m scratchin’ my head trying to see the connection there.
The next Lyndon Larouche?
Harold Stassen.
How about Pat Paulsen?
I don’t know about that. Looked to me like she enjoyed the limelight.
Dick Nixon after the ’62 election, but without the comeback.
I voted for Pat Paulsen. He would have won, too. But the election was stolen.
Picky, picky, picky.
Cindy Sheehan was a real piece of work. I was all over LGF in those years, and after several years, that demented proggie shrew had gone far beyond merely (and understandably) “unhinged by grief.” She got her years of indulgence based on sorrow, and kept right on running. Like suddenly she was some sort of expert. Commie shill.
Speaking of Commie Shills, . . . Charlie himself got kind of unhinged, too.
Oh very much so. And in true lefty fashion, he accomplished the agitation, provocation, and division of the Lizardim by bringing in a ringer: iceweasel.
What’s LGF? (Why does everyone now use acronyms?)
Little Green Footballs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Green_Footballs
“Little Green Footballs.” One of the earliest conservative blogs. Its creator, Charles Johnson, has since become a leftist ninny. Can’t remember if that happened before or after Trump.
Speaking of which, I see Allahpundit has departed from Hot Air, where he has been blogging since 2006. He also went round the bend.
Charlie went nuts because W was the personification of evil. He then banned all the smart people, and I quit reading what was left.
The person who runs, knowing they can’t win, but wants to spoil the chance to win for the other person. The person who wants to pick off the NT votes. The next McMullen. it is an old, tired, vindictive game.
I saw a reference on Twitter about a connectivity between her husband and Hunter’s lawyer. Will be watching to see if there is teeth to that or whether it is kook stuff.
2008-2009.
They apparently both work for the same law firm.
