This I have to listen to!
I’ve now listened to my first Ricochet podcast, a) because this is an issue of great interest to me, and b) because Prof. Epstein has a way of explaining things thoroughly and clearly.
The topic is of interest to me because aa) I’m a right-wing, conservative environmentalist, ab) I was born in North Dakota and still have connections there, ac) some of my family and personal history is connected with Dakota (Sioux) Indians, though not with the Standing Rock group, as far as I know, and ad) I’m sympathetic to many (though not all) of the efforts of Native peoples to preserve their heritage, community identity, and self-government.
I may or may not have anything substantive to say at some later time. I’ve been hitting the internet to learn more about the issue. But it’s always interesting when libertarians stand up for collectivism at the expense of individualism. (Not saying that Prof. Epstein isn’t right to do so in his role.)
