It’s worth the cost of a month of HBO, or Max, to watch the series “Chernobyl.” It’s really quite remarkable.
Caught a little reference that has changed over the years. Lileks mentioned something being of dollar store quality.. In the past that probably would have been a reference to a five-and-dime store or just dime store quality.
Our household has renamed Dollar Tree to Biden’s Buck and a Quarter Tree after they raised all prices from one dollar to $1.25.
Love the examples of how nothing changes with the old headlines. It was fun a few years ago when archeologists reported they found a souvenir that said something like “I went to Rome and all I got you was this stylus.”
I don’t usually stick up for the Boomers but “You have to care about this thing that was briefly relevant when I was young and I’m going to keep bringing it up until the end of time” sounds like every old man ever. Fifty years from now, should I survive that long, the other geezers are going to be recounting their Twitter battles over Taylor Swift.
