The Case for Trump: Victor Davis Hanson Makes The Closing Argument

With a little over three weeks to go before the election, we thought it would a good time to have a heart to heart discussion with our good friend Victor Davis Hanson. the Classics professor, the military historian, the farmer, the cultural observer, and the author of The Case For Trump, his best selling book that came out in 2017 and was re-issued earlier this year. It’s the most cogent case we’ve seen for the re-election of the President. In this one on one conversation, Peter Robinson takes Victor through all the reasons to cast a vote for Donald Trump and challenges Victor with a few reasons not to pull the lever for him. It’s an enlightening and informative hour and should be required listening (if we do say so ourselves) for all voters, especially those who are still undecided. Have at it.

Ugh. Unfortunately one of them is my son in law. He refuses to believe that the Democrats will do exactly what they say they will do.

They are just going to shove more “non-public goods” and kookie laws down our throats. Followed by single payer. It’s now or never for those guys on single payer.

Remember, there’s a massive media operation constantly telling people that the Democrats merely want “reasonable” gun controls.

    And who could oppose that?

Nothing agitates me more than Republicans that don’t know anything about the topic, babbling about concessions so they don’t go crazy. Study the damn topic. Don’t talk about the parts you don’t understand.

So, you want to Silence All Politicians.

    Great!  :-)

“Trump envisioned decline as a Nietzschean matter of choice.”

    Yeah, right.

I think VDH understands his comment and Nietzsche far better than you do.

And remember, as Trump is generally a man of instinct rather than intellect (and that is not an insult), he may well have envisioned decline precisely as VDH outlines, but without the labels VDH used to describe it to this audience.

    Beheadings under Obama-Biden: 300+

    Beheadings under Trump-Pence: 0

He mentioned beheadings and it felt like a memory, like oh yeah those were awful! Thank god someone had the gumption to release to full might of the greatest fighting force in history.

Beginning around the 61st minute in the midst of his commentary on BLM and Antifa, VDH states that “The law is going to be in the service of ideology. Once you get a true social activist that believes their noble ends justify any means necessary to carry them out it’s pretty scary.” That reminded me of this statement:

“The definition of morality is that which advances the revolution.” (attributed to Karl Marx, but I haven’t found the exact location of this quote) Trotsky expands on this statement in his 1938  pamphlet “Their Morals and Ours“, where he argues that morality is not fixed but reflects class interests in society.

BLM and Antifa are merely the current iterations (recognizing Antifa’s century long history and European communist origins) of Democrat party affiliated and allied domestic terror organizations like the KKK, Weather Underground, SLA, Black Panthers, etc. were in the past. A Biden victory will legitimize and validate the effectiveness of their recent and ongoing tactics and embolden them to continue and expand their rioting, property destruction, physical assault, and even murder in order to intimidate and silence political opposition following the election. Democrats have done it before and they’ll do it again. In the 19th and 20th centuries they used violence in the service of white supremacy. Then in the 60’s and 70’s the bombings, murders, riots, etc. were meant to bring about a Marxist revolution. Beginning in the 80’s, escalating in the 90’s, and continuing sporadically into the present, arson and other forms of property destruction and sabotage have been committed in the name of saving the environment (E.L.F – Earth Liberation Front) and the animals (A.L.F. – Animal Liberation Front). Now the violence is employed in the service of the melding of Marxism with identity politics to prevent Trump’s reelection and bring about a societal revolution (hearkening back to and foreshadowed by ’60’s and ’70’s radicalism).

With a Biden victory, the mainstream media will be emboldened to continue to run interference by downplaying or ignoring incidences of politically motivated property destruction and violence (as long as they are perpetrated by leftist groups). Any violent resistance or response to BLM or Antifa will be sensationalized as evidence of a vast network of right-wing white supremacist groups (that grew in size and influence during and because of the Trump presidency). Basically, the media will continue to use the tactics they’ve already been engaging in for several months.

The violence will also continue with a Trump victory, with post-election violence and property destruction being justified but also somehow Trump’s fault. On the positive side, Justice Dept. investigations into Antifa will continue in a Trump second term, possibly yielding results in breaking up their funding networks and prosecuting those engaged in conspiracies to commit violence. These investigations will be shut down asap if Biden wins.
