    ke,

Of course, you can get a fabulous ruling on Black Friday that won’t be available until next year’s Black Friday. Of course, maybe they are reducing the hours of SCOTUS because of COVID. Everybody else is. A word to the wise, call before you go.

James Gawron (View Comment):My how concerned we are about the possibility of a massive fraud. If Dominion actually wrote a custom fraud module for Venezuela they are so dirty they would do absolutely anything for cash. They wouldn’t have to do much actually because the module was already written, installed, and ready to go.

There is zero evidence for this and in fact Dominion voting machines were used in several states Trump won.

Because he deserved it.“, is the statement of a petulant child, not someone who is seriously concerned about this country. Childish bs, done by a sophomoric jerk like Sacha Baron Cohen, is not appropriate to the situation and you should know that. On Friday, if you have the evidence that I think you’ll have then maybe you’ll realize what I’m talking about.

Wanna bet? And I’m guessing you haven’t seen the movie. Cohen may indeed be sophomoric jerk, but that doesn’t explain Rudy’s behavior in the movie. He definitely deserves to be teased a bit for what transpired in it.

BTW, she wouldn’t be presenting the case as Trump’s attorney. This is now much bigger than Trump. The integrity of the entire American electoral process is on the line. If you insist upon blowing her off because you can’t wait four days to take some more cheap shots at Rudy, I would say you have lost it completely.

This makes zero sense and it’s not going to happen, Jim.  She was fired. Fired lawyers don’t file cases on behalf of clients they don’t represent because no one is paying them.

Reminder: 48 hours ago, Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell promised to deliver “big voter fraud information.”  Wasn’t that the point of press conference in which Powell accused Republican candidates of paying off Dominion(!)  for their victories and Giuliani quoted My Cousin Vinny? Now she’s gone. Wha’ happen?

The Democrats are dirty. They have always been dirty. This would just be their standard operating procedure updated to the information age.

Not relevant to this discussion as it’s not a legal argument. I’m quite sure Ms. Powell knows that.

Trump is an existential danger to the Republic

    How.

Apparently you have not been watching the news recently. When did we last have a president imply that he would refuse to vacate his office? (1876, and 1824 don’t count. There was not an incumbent threatening to not vacate his office, and using the tools of his office to prop himself up.)

You have a choice. You can be a Reagan Republican or a Banana Republican.

I have to admit that Trump and his legal team have provided lots of laughs over the past few weeks.

Just a few hours ago a memo was released from the Trump legal team stating that Sidney Powell is not part of Trump’s legal team.

One response was, “Wow. The Venezuelans got to Giuliani and forced him to fire Sidney Powell.”

This small Trump legal team skit does not come even close to the hilarity of HRC’s little Russia Collusion Hoax dirty trick taken up and run with by the Obama FBI/DOJ/IC with a lot of help from the (D)/MSM combine to provide the world with the most hilarious political scandal in the history mankind.

The jocularity continued  when the RussiaGate Hoax Show was extended into the The Mueller Special Counsel fun which was quite the laugh fest as well.

But the comedy spectacular had even more with the very serious business of stepping over the dead body of the Biden Crime Family Ukrainian corruption in order to create a new comedy show The Impeachment Trial triggered when Trump had the temerity to actually suggest the Ukies look into the Biden Crime Family corruption ….and evidently that’s not very funny to the (D)’s …. who knew?

And when the dust settled and it was determined it was all an HRC lark and a lot of DOJ/FBI/IC/MSM corruption did any of these dirtbags ever offer any sort of acknowledgement much less an apology for their comedic corruption ……….HELL NO ……. because apparently getting caught in corruption is not very funny to the (D) either.

I have to believe the nearly four years of the Russia Collusion Hoax laugh fest had to have provided you with way more laughs than the little skit the Trump legal team cobbled together these past two weeks.

But don’t worry the hilarious  slap stick of The Biden Crime Family is on center stage now so prepare to laugh some more.

This is a non-sequitor. What ever did or did not happen in the Russia investigation, or the Ukraine, impeachment, or during a commercial break on The Apprentice has nothing to do with the Trump legal team’s effort to prove there was massive fraud in the election.  There is no judge in the country who will take any of those subjects into consideration when ruling on cases having to do with the 2020 election. Nor should they.

There are legitimate complaints to make about the way those investigations were handled by Congress and covered by the media. But it’s not relevant to what we are discussing here.

    Yeti,

There is zero evidence for this and in fact Dominion voting machines were used in several states Trump won.

There wouldn’t be because nobody was looking for it. Dominion had complete control and could have done it all remotely with nobody seeing anything. This isn’t a hack but an inside job.

Wanna bet? And I’m guessing you haven’t seen the movie. Cohen may indeed be sophomoric jerk, but that doesn’t explain Rudy’s behavior in the movie. He definitely deserves to be teased a bit for what transpired in it.

Sophomoric bs is mildly entertaining but that’s about it. This is a waste of time to be fooling with this kind of thing at the moment. Weirdly, it may have actually helped. Sidney is better off not being Trump’s lawyer. If she makes the Dominion thing stick this is way bigger than just Trump.

This makes zero sense and it’s not going to happen, Jim. She was fired. Fired lawyers don’t file cases on behalf of clients they don’t represent because no one is paying them.

You’re just spinning. She wasn’t fired she had never actually been hired but was working from outside the White House. Because Tucker went nuts because she wouldn’t litigate her case on Tucker Carlson Tonight they probably felt compelled to make the statement. Of course, never Trumpers never actually do any damage to the party & country, it’s always Trump’s fault. In a pig’s eye.

Not relevant to this discussion as it’s not a legal argument. I’m quite sure Ms. Powell knows that.

From a purely psychological point of view, it is very relevant. Everyone has had past experience with Democratic Party corruption. The simple way to get your head around this new phenomenon is to realize that this kind of fraud is in their DNA. This time, however, it was done with computers hooked to the internet and on a much grander scale.

    Same garbage, new technology.

Hey Jim — Sidney Powell, Esq. isn’t blaming the Democrats for the alleged Dominion hack. She is blaming the Republican Governor of Georgia and the Republican Secretary of State of Georgia. Furthermore, she is accusing them of reaping financial gain from it:

What is odd about this conversation to me is the idea that it’s just impossible to believe that Biden might’ve scored more votes than Trump.

No, it is that Biden scored more votes than Obama. Even accounting for the population increase.

Trump scored more votes than Obama as well. That just tells us that folks were fired up to vote more than they were on ’08.

Yes, it was quite obvious that Biden’s personal dynamism was stratospheric…even more so than Barack Obama’s.

It had little to do with Biden. It had everything to do with Trump. The Biden motto: “Joe Biden, he’ll do.”

But he won’t do. He will be a disaster.

In fact, if @garyrobbins is a real conservative, as he claims, then this has got to be the worst of all possible worlds.

The Democrats have the White House; while, far from being discredited, Trump remains firmly in control of the Republican Party, and will either be the 2024 candidate himself or, if he prefers, the kingmaker who chooses the candidate.

I’ve heard that Trump is the first incumbent President to lose his reelection in spite of increasing his vote total.  I haven’t checked the numbers myself but, if so, that would be yet another suspicious statistical anomaly.

No, sorry. You’ve been saying this for four years. So you’ll have to come up with something from the last four years, not the last two weeks. You, too, HW, since you “liked” his meaningless comment.

Here we see yet another example of how Never Trumpers are unable to learn anything from the last four years.

No Republican President is a threat to the Constitution, because he doesn’t have the Federal bureaucracy or the mainstream media behind him, the way a Democratic President does.  Obama could sic the IRS on conservative groups in 2012, and the FBI on Trump in 2016; no Republican President would get that kind of cooperation.

Incidentally, the constant invocations of Ronald Reagan sound like something out of the Soros playbook.  Every election year, Democrats make much of how the Republicans currently in the arena have degenerated from the noble, preferably dead Republicans of the past.  Every election year, “lifelong Republicans“ come forward to declare that, due to the special awfulness of today’s Republicans, they are voting Democratic “for the first time”.

If only we could have talked Trump into resigning in 2019. Pence might have had a better shot of beating Biden, given Pence’s ability to think before he speaks (unlike Trump). Oh, well. The road less travelled.

If only, back in 2016, the GOP primary voters didn’t bypass the most impressive GOP field in my memory in favor of a [CoC violation] gameshow host then in November 2020 President Cruz would be basking in his post reelection triumph.

Serious question for all of the massive fraud believers on this thread: If she has the goods, why is the Trump legal team throwing her overboard? And why isn’t she giving someone (the media, the courts, the President) an inkling as to what this supposed fraud he has uncovered entails?

    Yeti,

Because Powell is a professional and not a media gadfly. The case will be filed Friday. She will have the damning evidence for you then. Considering the importance of this, maybe you should just stop speculating about whether Guiliani dies his hair or Powell is taller. You’ll find out Friday. If it is what I think it is, it will be good enough.

    Regards,

    Jim

I am curious how you claim to know these details.  You write “She will have the damning evidence for you then.”

My sense is that this is just speculation on your part.  Sidney Powell herself has not said that she will provide evidence to the public or the courts this Friday (the day after Thanksgiving).

As I mentioned in another thread,

Hillary did a great disservice to the country and it’s traditions by pretending that she won the election. She also did so by telling Joe not to concede. Before the election of 1800, there was no peaceful transfer of power from one party to another anywhere. The person who lost was either killed or banished or put in the tower of London to rot. Being able to pull off power going from one party to another lets us lift ourselves out of the muck of perpetual war and terror.

Or are you one of those who believe the Republicans should practice unilateral disarmament?

The more we delegitimize the Biden-Harris administration, the less damage they can do; and the easier it is for Collins, Murkowski, and Manchin to oppose their initiatives.

The King was still the head guy when the parties where being transferred. When Jefferson became the head guy over Adams, that was a very big new transfer of power from one party to another.

To your earlier point, should we delegitimize the Biden-Harris administration if they did win the Electoral college? I assume their was fraud done on their behalf but if it wasn’t enough fraud to change the ultimate result, then doesn’t that mean Biden is legitimately elected?

Now, now, Taras, giving the store away to the merciless Media/Democrat axis by unilateral disarmament as you call it, provides us with an infinite opportunity for magical virtue-signaling bs. Isn’t that what’s important?

    Regards,

    Jim

Hillary established the new standard and the mainstream media gave it their imprimatur, by giving her endless opportunities to air her imaginary wrongs.

Or are you one of those who believe the Republicans should practice unilateral disarmament?

It seems like this is a path to an ever degrading political climate.  If it’s OK — encouraged, even — for every president to do disreputable things as long as someone else did it first, and then add their own unique misdeeds to become future precedents, it’s nothing but a downward spiral.

[Feel free to substitute just about anyone from the 2016 GOP field for Cruz, it will not change my point.]

That hypothesis was entirely plausible — in 2016.

In retrospect, it’s all too likely that a polite Republican nominee in 2016 would have fared the same as the polite Republican nominees in 2012 and 2008.  According to the media, Republican candidates are supposed to go through the motions of trying to win the election — but not try too hard.

What was needed was a Republican candidate who had the media presence and savvy to reach around the increasingly hostile media to get his message directly to the voters.

Just saw a video from October 2019 of Hillary calling Trump an “illegitimate President”. So Rothman should delete his tweet, and resend it in October 2023 — if Trump is still contesting the 2016 election results then.

Except Hillary Clinton did call Donald Trump the day after the election to concede that Trump won. So, I don’t think your argument holds up.

Similarly, Al Gore conceded the 2000 election to George W. Bush – and then unconceded it a few hours later, fighting it through the courts for the rest of the year.

Should we give Hillary and Al credit for their first reaction to losing? Or condemn them for going back on their word?
