The Classicist Podcast, with Victor Davis Hanson: Obama’s Iran Debacle
This week, VDH goes into professor mode and takes the red pen to President Obama’s arguments in favor of the nuclear agreement with Iran. As you might imagine, it doesn’t go too well for the Commander-in-Chief. Listen in below or subscribe to The Classicist via iTunes or your favorite podcast app.

Another excellent podcast featuring VDH. Thank you.
Keep’em coming!
I am in awe of Dr. Hanson. The extensive knowledge that he shares greatly informs my own views on a number of subjects. I know of nobody who is as clear-eyed about events taking place around the world or as wise about the potential effects of policymakers’ ignorant (or worse) actions. But I think he misses the bigger point when he says that “the reason he [Obama] does these things is because he’s an adolescent…”
While all of that is true, it overlooks a point that has become increasingly evident: Obama is not acting out of ignorance, but by intent. Empowering the mullahs to become a regional leader while taking the US down a couple pegs in the international arena is precisely Obama’s mission, and has been from the beginning.
My only objection is the depiction of Iraq as a success story until Obama messed it up. Of course things were much better than now but prime minister Maliki (a Shia muslim) et al were abusing their power and pushing around the Sunnis, which planted the seeds of what we see today.
