‘I Don’t Know, To Be Clear’: Biden’s Painful Press Conference

The President’s first press conference has just concluded. Joe Biden mumbling and stumbling his way through an hour of sympathetic softballs proved, once again, that he is not up to the job. He hasn’t “lost a step,” he’s lost the whole staircase. Even his media boosters couldn’t maintain the charade.

Biden strained to keep up with his scripted briefing document, calling one hand-selected reporter at a time. Each question was a mild critique from the far left. (Needless to say, Fox News’s Peter Doocy was not called upon.) Each answer was a few minutes of rambling followed by a word-for-word dry-read of the White House talking points.

Caleb Hull provided representative clips:

This embarrassing display occurred days after Biden’s repeated collapses trying to board Air Force One, and China publicly ridiculed his administration for its self-loathing weakness at the Alaska summit. No doubt, our enemies laughed their way through the presser as Americans cringed.

Meanwhile, at a nearby baseball field, Kamala Harris was warming up in the bullpen.

I heard some comparisons to FDR. However, I think, even in his final days, FDR possessed more intelligence, more character, and, most certainly, a great deal more real patriotism than this man has ever possessed. Biden is an empty shell. In an earlier comment someone asked how his wife could allow this to be done to him. I apologize for not remembering the author of that comment. The answer, though is pretty simple. It has always been my belief that intelligence and, likely, integrity occur in inverse proportion to ambition. “Dr. Jill” does not possess a great deal of intelligence, less integrity, but a whole lot of ambition. Her entire “Dr.” thing demonstrates that clearly. Elsewhere, another commenter said, God help us. To which I can only respond, Amen.

BTW, has Drudge turned into the HuffPost? I haven’t visited that site in a few years. I last remember it being the great Trump booster. Have they really gone over to the darkside?

    I feel sorry for Biden

I don’t.  He has such a  history of lies – and not just politician lies.  The lies he told about the poor man who was in the accident with Biden’s wife were vile.

I actually don’t believe that Jill Biden could have talked him out of it.  He has wanted to be president since he was in college.  And Jill Biden probably wanted to be First Lady.

Unfortunately for us, he’s only wanted the TITLE of president, not the actual job.

Couldn’t stop thinking of Dana Carvey’s perfect impersonation of Biden.

    .

Dana Carvey was dead on perfect.  Biden’s press conference reminded me of Reagan’s later press conferences in his second term.

Morning Joe did a side by side comparison between Biden’s first press conference and Trump’s first press conference.  Biden did a far better job.  That clip is not up yet at YouTube, but Brian Williams’ clip is.  I prefer Republican policies over Democrat policies, but I also choose Biden over Trump, at least as to their first formal Presidential news conferences.

Here is a summary from Politico of 180 seconds of Biden’s news conference.  He looked pretty good.  Not perfect, but pretty good.  For better or worse, people are willing to accept Biden’s foibles like they did Reagan’s.  Given Trump’s toxic brew, he did not get the same level of acceptance, at least by me.

So true.  Even if he was leftist on policies for the home front, he was outstanding in his performance of duties as a wartime Commander-In-Chief.

Did you miss the fact he needed detailed instructions on who and when to call on particular “reporters’?  And still managed to get confused?

That he wandered and lost his train of thought?

I don’t know.  I wouldn’t need to be prompted for answers, but I wouldn’t mind a “who’s who” with pictures.  Heck, we needed something like that the first week we got home with our three adopted daughters.  Fortunately, we eventually learned their names when they did . . .

The idiot wants raise Americas roads by 3 feet because of “Global Warming”

“Last point I’ll make on the infrastructure — and I apologize for spending more time on it, but — is that if you think about it, it’s the place where we will be able to significantly increase American productivity, at the same time providing really good jobs for people. But we can’t build back to what they used to be. We have to build — the environment has — global warming has already done significant damage.

The roads that used to be above the water level — didn’t have to worry about where the drainage ditch was — now you got to rebuild them three feet higher. Because it’s not going to go back to what it was before; it will only get worse, unless we stop it.

    like they did Reagan’s.

Why is this an intelligent comparison? This makes no sense to me.

They will get rid of him in a second if something chaotic happens in the country or globally.
