Watching Kenosha Burn

I’ve never been there, but I feel as if I know it. Kenosha is the size of my home town, a little dot of civilization eked out in short order, built up with pride, home to people who work, worship, and enjoy the pace and pleasures of a small town. It burned last night and it is burning tonight. I’m watching the feeds, and I’m pretty sure someone’s going to get shot. The Marxists are showing up with rifles; there are reports of a militia en route to confront the protestors.

Does Kenosha have a large number of people who want to burn down their town and bring Death to America? I’m thinking they may have imported some people who wished to help out. I’m thinking they’d head up to Fargo if they were needed there. I’m thinking they’d be more than happy to burn downtown Fargo. For justice!

Actually, no; for Revolution! Justice comes later.

Actually, the Revolution is justice! So burning downtown Fargo is, like, a jury returning with its verdict. Totally justice.

The feed of mayhem comes in short bursts on Twitter. I watched videos of rioters showing up with rifles, American flags burned while someone screeched “Death to America.” CNN right now:

MSNBC ‘s homepage at 11:47:

WaPo’s home page has a huge headline:

Trump uses tools of government in reelection effort

First lady’s Rose Garden speech, Pompeo’s address, naturalization ceremony raise issue of separation of politics and official business

The sole Kenosha story:

Jacob Blake’s family calls for officer’s arrest, peaceful protest The father of five young children was shot in the back by police, which has left him paralyzed from the waist down.

The “Father of Five” note is interesting, since people who have large families are usually excoriated for killing the planet.

It seems that the destruction in Kenosha is not important. But it is a matter of dire national importance that you think about the Tiki Torch rally in Charleston every day, because those chucking fargleheads were representative of everyone to the right of David Frum. The destruction of Minneapolis neighborhoods was a righteous reaction, if regrettably enthusiastic. But it is a matter of vital concern to the future of our democracy that you remember armed men entering the Michigan state capitol.

We’ve been told that concern over burning down cities amounts to prioritizing mere bricks over lives. This is a popular retort amongst those who reveal they cannot contain two ideas in their head simultaneously. They will charge the National Guard and scream “fascist” with the assumption that they will not be shot by people who value bricks over lives. Then they will throw a brick with the intention of ending a life.

I watched a Kenosha clip that showed a man – as distinct from the males who were rioting – attempting to protect his job from arsonists. He is not a member of the landlord / exploiter class, but he suffers from false consciousness, so he is not subject to consideration as a fellow human being. He is a parasite-adjacent, so it is permissible to kill him. Or at least induce a state of actual unconsciousness. He was struck with a a heavy object, possibly a bottle of cement, and fell to the ground inert. The woman filming the attack laid into the rioters, and said “this is wrong” – whereupon one of the rioters said “We’re trying to protect ourselves.”

Defending yourself against the revolutionaries is an offensive act. And why wouldn’t it be? If the cause is just, anyone who stands in its way has forfeited their right to live.

The man has a broken jaw. The protestor has a broken moral compass. One will heal, and the other will sicken for the rest of her days.

Okay, let me check the feed to see if anyone’s been shot in Kenosha.

Why, yes.

Imagine that.

Can’t tell who shot who, but from the screams and sounds of shock and surprise, it seems that an antifa-associated individual took a round. He is screaming for a MEDIC, like they do in video games, and counting on someone to apply all the tools and techniques of Western Civilization to save him.

He may be crying out for an ambulance. This will be a problem, since some protestors may believe that the ambulance is there to rescue someone on the other side, and will set upon it with rocks and clubs. Someone will have to arrange safe passage and assure the protestors that the ambulance is cool.

Like I said, I don’t live in Kenosha. Never been there. I don’t live in New York. I don’t live in Chicago. I don’t live in Portland. Except that I do, because I am an American citizen. What’s the line? This land is my land, right?

Update: from what I’m reading on Twitter, the rioter was shot by someone defending his business. And I’m thinking about our family business, how my Dad would have run out to protect what he had built, and how they would have thrown a brick at his head. And someone with an iPhone streaming it all live would have shouted WOO, and maybe cursed the way the stream wasn’t uploading to Facebook right away, and taken a drink of fresh clean water from his canteen, wondered if the blood would come off his shoes, and shouted F*CK CAPITALISM before heading off to the next target. What town is this again?

Doesn’t matter. Burn ’em all.

I suspect that many of these organizations are being funded by Chinese intelligence and that many of the leadership cadre has received training from foreign sources.

I’ve been in Kenosha twice in my life, both about 35 years ago, neither in the downtown area.  At the time, it was a small industrial town trying to buck the general decline of such in the Midwest.  That could leave a combustible residue as in many such.

Watched some of the videos of the shooting incidents.  The one with the guy knocked down and defending with an AR looks righteous to me.  Someone aims a round house kick at my head and another approaches with a pistol, they get holes in them.  The clip purported to be of an earlier incident may or may not be the same guy, and circumstances are a lot less clear.

If they don’t flood the zone with cops and NG tonight, it’ll be worse.   I saw one free-lance reporter embedded with the antifa estimating 80% were from out of town.  That’s the kind of thing that leads to first roadblocks on the way into town, and eventually return visits to the attacker’s home bases.

At some point as this spreads, more and more citizens will shoot back.

This is how you get sectarian war, folks.

Defense against raiders does not work as a strategy. If the raiders continue, thenonly way to stop them is take away their secure base.

The time is coming when citizens are going to do this on their own if it does not stop.

The sad part is as citizens that defend themselves they will be jailed with maximum penalties of the law. The protestors will be either not found, or catch and release. It is becoming obvious this is a government sponsored / sanctioned events.

Not if I’m on the jury.

What jury?  98% plea out because they do not have resources to fight.

TGP has a collection of videos. The claim is that the shooter was being chased because he had already shot someone. Hard to believe even the rioters are stupid enough to chase an armed man who has already shown his willingness to shoot people, but one can’t fix stupid.

    Link here: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/08/insane-video-17-year-old-suspect-kyle-rittenhouse-identified-kenosha-shooter-jumped-street-rioters-shot-three-people-killing-two-charged-murder/

TGP tends to go overboard on their story headlines, but how many sites put a link to submit corrections at the end of each story?

That’s why it’s a surprise when citizens defend themselves. Most city DAs are Democrats eager to punish self-defense.

When black people with violent criminal records and especially when currently holding a lethal weapon in their hand, don’t seem to think anything should happen to them if they refuse to drop the weapon and instead reach into their car when ordered not to, possibly to obtain an even more lethal weapon, POLICE reform is not the issue.

When you start looking at funding for the more-questionable or outright awful left-wing organizations, you always find either direct funding from Soros money, or people who get their start with grants from Soros.

You frequently find Democrat money behind NeverTrump organizations, too.

    Kozak,

Thanks this ought to give us an idea just how small Mr. Soros’s footprints are?! Nice to use the words racial equality, racial justice groups, civic engagement. What this money is really paying for are Marxists/Anarchists creating riots on command. George just writes the checks. I’d suspect it’s like dealing with a contractor. I’ll give you 50% upfront to get organized and when the job is done I’ll give you the other 50%.

The Democrat deflection effort has only backfired on them as Americans are witnessing night after night of violence and anarchy from Antifa and BLM rioters. Biden is only offering tepid comments now because his internal pollsters have seen their numbers dropping. Their numbers are dropping because of the endless rioting, the dismal DNC telethon, and the success of the Republican Convention coverage in the last two days. But it’s also telling that he posted a basement tweet only after a couple of looters in Kenosha got shot.

Joe Biden needs to call Bill Clinton in to help him craft his messages. Clinton was a master at telling different crowds contradictory things that they wanted to hear. Within the span of days, Clinton could be for or against raising taxes on businesses, or for or against welfare reform, all depending on who his audience was that day. Clinton could coach Biden on telling people he supports the cops/property owners or the rioters depending on who he was talking to.

I think that you are absolutely correct.

They’re the same people under a different name. You’re giving money to the same group of grifters. I really want you to understand that all these Trump-hating groups you are financing are left-wing shadow groups pretending to be Republican in order to bilk you out of your money. They see you as an ATM, and that’s all. Please don’t give money to these people.

Defending Democracy Together has been criticized for taking at least $600,000 in two grants from Democracy Fund Voice, a 501(c)(4) group created and funded by left-wing mega-donor Pierre Omidyar. According to Democracy Fund Voice’s website, in May 2018 it “approved two grants to Defending Democracy Together: first in the amount of up to $100,000 over one year and then in the amount of up to $500,000 over one year.”

As of January 2020, however, Democracy Fund Voice’s website notes that it awarded up to $1.6 million in grants to DDT in 2018.

DDT received $1.6 million in two grants from Democracy Fund Voice in 2018, according to the latter’s 2018 IRS Form 990 filing. The grants were for, respectively, “general operating support” and “research and advocacy to restore faith in U.S. democracy.”

DDT also received $75,000 from the Hopewell Fund in 2018 for “civil rights, social action, [and] advocacy.” The Hopewell Fund is part of a $600 million network of left-wing funding nonprofits managed by Arabella Advisors in Washington, D.C.

    . . .

Charles “Charlie” Sykes is president of DDT and a senior fellow at the right-leaning Wisconsin Policy Research Institute. Sykes, a self-described “prominent and outspoken critic of Donald Trump,” is also a national advisory board member for the left-wing funding group Democracy Fund; Democracy Fund Voice, a “sister” nonprofit to Democracy Fund, has  donated at least $600,000 to DDT. Sykes is also a board member for Stand Up Republic, a left-leaning organization funded by Democracy Fund Voice.
