Watching Kenosha Burn

I’ve never been there, but I feel as if I know it. Kenosha is the size of my home town, a little dot of civilization eked out in short order, built up with pride, home to people who work, worship, and enjoy the pace and pleasures of a small town. It burned last night and it is burning tonight. I’m watching the feeds, and I’m pretty sure someone’s going to get shot. The Marxists are showing up with rifles; there are reports of a militia en route to confront the protestors.

Does Kenosha have a large number of people who want to burn down their town and bring Death to America? I’m thinking they may have imported some people who wished to help out. I’m thinking they’d head up to Fargo if they were needed there. I’m thinking they’d be more than happy to burn downtown Fargo. For justice!

Actually, no; for Revolution! Justice comes later.

Actually, the Revolution is justice! So burning downtown Fargo is, like, a jury returning with its verdict. Totally justice.

The feed of mayhem comes in short bursts on Twitter. I watched videos of rioters showing up with rifles, American flags burned while someone screeched “Death to America.” CNN right now:

MSNBC ‘s homepage at 11:47:

WaPo’s home page has a huge headline:

Trump uses tools of government in reelection effort

First lady’s Rose Garden speech, Pompeo’s address, naturalization ceremony raise issue of separation of politics and official business

The sole Kenosha story:

Jacob Blake’s family calls for officer’s arrest, peaceful protest The father of five young children was shot in the back by police, which has left him paralyzed from the waist down.

The “Father of Five” note is interesting, since people who have large families are usually excoriated for killing the planet.

It seems that the destruction in Kenosha is not important. But it is a matter of dire national importance that you think about the Tiki Torch rally in Charleston every day, because those chucking fargleheads were representative of everyone to the right of David Frum. The destruction of Minneapolis neighborhoods was a righteous reaction, if regrettably enthusiastic. But it is a matter of vital concern to the future of our democracy that you remember armed men entering the Michigan state capitol.

We’ve been told that concern over burning down cities amounts to prioritizing mere bricks over lives. This is a popular retort amongst those who reveal they cannot contain two ideas in their head simultaneously. They will charge the National Guard and scream “fascist” with the assumption that they will not be shot by people who value bricks over lives. Then they will throw a brick with the intention of ending a life.

I watched a Kenosha clip that showed a man – as distinct from the males who were rioting – attempting to protect his job from arsonists. He is not a member of the landlord / exploiter class, but he suffers from false consciousness, so he is not subject to consideration as a fellow human being. He is a parasite-adjacent, so it is permissible to kill him. Or at least induce a state of actual unconsciousness. He was struck with a a heavy object, possibly a bottle of cement, and fell to the ground inert. The woman filming the attack laid into the rioters, and said “this is wrong” – whereupon one of the rioters said “We’re trying to protect ourselves.”

Defending yourself against the revolutionaries is an offensive act. And why wouldn’t it be? If the cause is just, anyone who stands in its way has forfeited their right to live.

The man has a broken jaw. The protestor has a broken moral compass. One will heal, and the other will sicken for the rest of her days.

Okay, let me check the feed to see if anyone’s been shot in Kenosha.

Why, yes.

Imagine that.

Can’t tell who shot who, but from the screams and sounds of shock and surprise, it seems that an antifa-associated individual took a round. He is screaming for a MEDIC, like they do in video games, and counting on someone to apply all the tools and techniques of Western Civilization to save him.

He may be crying out for an ambulance. This will be a problem, since some protestors may believe that the ambulance is there to rescue someone on the other side, and will set upon it with rocks and clubs. Someone will have to arrange safe passage and assure the protestors that the ambulance is cool.

Like I said, I don’t live in Kenosha. Never been there. I don’t live in New York. I don’t live in Chicago. I don’t live in Portland. Except that I do, because I am an American citizen. What’s the line? This land is my land, right?

Update: from what I’m reading on Twitter, the rioter was shot by someone defending his business. And I’m thinking about our family business, how my Dad would have run out to protect what he had built, and how they would have thrown a brick at his head. And someone with an iPhone streaming it all live would have shouted WOO, and maybe cursed the way the stream wasn’t uploading to Facebook right away, and taken a drink of fresh clean water from his canteen, wondered if the blood would come off his shoes, and shouted F*CK CAPITALISM before heading off to the next target. What town is this again?

Doesn’t matter. Burn ’em all.

re Soros, start at the top.

    https://capitalresearch.org/app/uploads/CRC_Arabella-Advisors-Dark-Money.pdf

The links in earlier comments mentioned the offshoots. These offshoots fund popups, like the group that opposed Kavanaugh. The offshoots actually fund these groups directly, effectively laundering the money for the donors….dark money. You won’t see a direct tie between Soros and BLM.

Heh. You will see a direct link to Kristol and Sykes via Democracy Fund Voice, Pierre Omidyar and his Omidyar Network. Sykes is on the board of a couple blatantly-left-wing groups, all the while he pretends to be a Republican.

Do not quote the giant string of posts about the Lincoln Project, Rick Wilson, etc.  Further quoting of this will get deleted.

Drop the Lincoln Project and Bulwark discussion unless it involves them talking about Kenosha.  I don’t care who started it at this point.  No one is going to change their minds here, and it is a distraction.

I looked up boogaloo not too long ago. Wikip — something. I was expecting a lefty entry, but the one I got was more or less innocuous, I think saying they were “alt-right” who wore Hawaiian shirts and carried guns. Which means they were normal right-of-center who wore Hawaiian shirts and carried guns, as we all should (esp. the shirts). I think I stated that the information was what people were saying and not necessarily true.

As far as boogaloo being a pejorative, I can see that, but then alt-right has no meaning to me, and yet is a pejorative. Heck, being labeled “for Trump” is a pejorative. In short, if boogaloo is inflammatory, it’s not what I meant.

The whole “American Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo” was originally a very tongue-in-cheek reference to a possible second Civil War, and while there are certainly some who take it seriously, it mostly turned out to be a new way to generate memes.

Leftist organizations like the SPLC and the New York Times (cough) all think “the boogaloo” is a massive, overwhelming white supremacist organization, when it’s mostly just a bunch of guys who like to talk about guns and make up funny stuff.

Hence the fat guys in full tacticool hardware strapped over red and yellow Hawaiian shirts.

    Perci,

There were a lot of peach orchards around eastern PA. I only lived there for a short while but I do remember the big tanker truck spraying liquid pig manure from about 20 nozzles coming out of the back end.

The smell!!!!!!!! A weapon of mass odor destruction. I know it would be an escalation but as Curtis Lemay said, “Just let’em have it!” OK, OK, he never said that but he should have.

    Regards,

    Jim

I’ve made multiple comments about Kenosha unlike a certain person.

This is what Biden and the Democrats think is such an injustice. A felon resisting arrest, armed with a knife.

The fact checkers are all over this one.  Apparently the picture of him holding the knife, finding a knife at the scene, and the cops telling him to drop the knife are not persuasive evidence that he had a knife.

According to a DOJ statement, “Blake admitted that he had a knife in his possession.” But it is not clear whether Blake held that knife during the Sunday confrontation with police, was reaching for it, dropped it in the car or was doing something else. Attorney General Josh Kaul and his spokeswoman would not elaborate on the statement.

Kenosha police officers are not equipped with body cameras. Officers have dashboard cameras in their squad cars but it is unclear whether any part of the shooting had been captured on those cameras.

Many would-be-sleuths online have pointed to video of the shooting as proof Blake was armed. But the grainy object visible in Blake’s left hand could be a knife or something else. Some have speculated sunglasses.

The man who said he made the widely shared cellphone video from across the street, 22-year-old Raysean White, told the Associated Press he heard officers yell, “Drop the knife! Drop the knife!” as they scuffled with Blake before the shooting. The audio captured by White is inconclusive — obscured by the shouts of onlookers — though there is a phrase or two that could be interpreted as, “Drop the knife.”

Yep. Especially when you have faculty agitators from the local university organizing “protests” for this weekend. Like we do. (I was kind of hoping these rain storms would hold off until their “protest” tomorrow. Rain would dispirit them a bit.

Snow would be even better. I’m guessing that these riots will probably stop sometime next January. At least in the upper midwest.

I don’t know what all they do. I suspect most of their donors don’t. But they are mainstream in the sense that they have a wide funding base in the legal community among a lot of people who aren’t particularly radical. Maybe it’s all a smokescreen to suck money from people too busy to investigate them. I honestly don’t know. But I can tell you in a lot of white shoe law firms pitching in $500/year to them is no more controversial than making a contribution to the United Way.
