Watching Kenosha Burn

I’ve never been there, but I feel as if I know it. Kenosha is the size of my home town, a little dot of civilization eked out in short order, built up with pride, home to people who work, worship, and enjoy the pace and pleasures of a small town. It burned last night and it is burning tonight. I’m watching the feeds, and I’m pretty sure someone’s going to get shot. The Marxists are showing up with rifles; there are reports of a militia en route to confront the protestors.

Does Kenosha have a large number of people who want to burn down their town and bring Death to America? I’m thinking they may have imported some people who wished to help out. I’m thinking they’d head up to Fargo if they were needed there. I’m thinking they’d be more than happy to burn downtown Fargo. For justice!

Actually, no; for Revolution! Justice comes later.

Actually, the Revolution is justice! So burning downtown Fargo is, like, a jury returning with its verdict. Totally justice.

The feed of mayhem comes in short bursts on Twitter. I watched videos of rioters showing up with rifles, American flags burned while someone screeched “Death to America.” CNN right now:

MSNBC ‘s homepage at 11:47:

WaPo’s home page has a huge headline:

Trump uses tools of government in reelection effort

First lady’s Rose Garden speech, Pompeo’s address, naturalization ceremony raise issue of separation of politics and official business

The sole Kenosha story:

Jacob Blake’s family calls for officer’s arrest, peaceful protest The father of five young children was shot in the back by police, which has left him paralyzed from the waist down.

The “Father of Five” note is interesting, since people who have large families are usually excoriated for killing the planet.

It seems that the destruction in Kenosha is not important. But it is a matter of dire national importance that you think about the Tiki Torch rally in Charleston every day, because those chucking fargleheads were representative of everyone to the right of David Frum. The destruction of Minneapolis neighborhoods was a righteous reaction, if regrettably enthusiastic. But it is a matter of vital concern to the future of our democracy that you remember armed men entering the Michigan state capitol.

We’ve been told that concern over burning down cities amounts to prioritizing mere bricks over lives. This is a popular retort amongst those who reveal they cannot contain two ideas in their head simultaneously. They will charge the National Guard and scream “fascist” with the assumption that they will not be shot by people who value bricks over lives. Then they will throw a brick with the intention of ending a life.

I watched a Kenosha clip that showed a man – as distinct from the males who were rioting – attempting to protect his job from arsonists. He is not a member of the landlord / exploiter class, but he suffers from false consciousness, so he is not subject to consideration as a fellow human being. He is a parasite-adjacent, so it is permissible to kill him. Or at least induce a state of actual unconsciousness. He was struck with a a heavy object, possibly a bottle of cement, and fell to the ground inert. The woman filming the attack laid into the rioters, and said “this is wrong” – whereupon one of the rioters said “We’re trying to protect ourselves.”

Defending yourself against the revolutionaries is an offensive act. And why wouldn’t it be? If the cause is just, anyone who stands in its way has forfeited their right to live.

The man has a broken jaw. The protestor has a broken moral compass. One will heal, and the other will sicken for the rest of her days.

Okay, let me check the feed to see if anyone’s been shot in Kenosha.

Why, yes.

Imagine that.

Can’t tell who shot who, but from the screams and sounds of shock and surprise, it seems that an antifa-associated individual took a round. He is screaming for a MEDIC, like they do in video games, and counting on someone to apply all the tools and techniques of Western Civilization to save him.

He may be crying out for an ambulance. This will be a problem, since some protestors may believe that the ambulance is there to rescue someone on the other side, and will set upon it with rocks and clubs. Someone will have to arrange safe passage and assure the protestors that the ambulance is cool.

Like I said, I don’t live in Kenosha. Never been there. I don’t live in New York. I don’t live in Chicago. I don’t live in Portland. Except that I do, because I am an American citizen. What’s the line? This land is my land, right?

Update: from what I’m reading on Twitter, the rioter was shot by someone defending his business. And I’m thinking about our family business, how my Dad would have run out to protect what he had built, and how they would have thrown a brick at his head. And someone with an iPhone streaming it all live would have shouted WOO, and maybe cursed the way the stream wasn’t uploading to Facebook right away, and taken a drink of fresh clean water from his canteen, wondered if the blood would come off his shoes, and shouted F*CK CAPITALISM before heading off to the next target. What town is this again?

Doesn’t matter. Burn ’em all.

Now, one of the most prominent white supremacists, Richard Spencer has heartily endorsed Joe Biden for President. (Must really upset and frustrate Mona Charen, and Bill Kristol, Max Boot and the rest of the Lincoln Project gang).

Why would it? All those people you mention (especially the Lincoln Project) are racists.

    JamesL,

These Antifa clowns are paid for (filtered by intermediary organizations) by Soros. They are being bused in wherever they think they can get away with the big con that it’s a “protest”. They come armed (now with fully automatic weapons) with the intention of destroying property, committing arson, and street fighting anybody they can find including the police.

Why is it surprising that people will start to fight back? Why is it surprising that people will get wounded and people will get killed? When did we descend to having the understanding of 10-year-old child playing games? Riots destroy neighborhoods and destroy the people who live there. They aren’t protests and they accomplish nothing. Anarchy is guaranteed to get people killed. Duh!

    Regards,

    Jim

Sadly, it seems a handful of these “Mostly Peaceful Protestors” discovered the hard way why we have a functional, impartial government and why we have a police force. Take both away either through neglect or active measures, and we resort to defending ourselves from each other. The rioters are destroying civil society without any realization why the institutions of civil society exist.

I suspect it’s not just Soros. There are a lot of wealthy “Progressives.” From some reports, there are state actors involved in the disinformation campaigns, and IIUC, there’s nothing preventing foreign individuals and organizations from contributing to Burn, Loot, Murder and the various Antifa fronts.

Lots of video clips out there now. One should have been sad, but I laughed out loud when one of those street animals took a bullet to the head and his comrades started yelling “Call the police!” Another was recorded/filmed yelling, “Shoot me first, [redacted].” Later, someone shot him. Got his wish, I guess.

I guess it is the most disturbing clip I’ve seen. One guy tells an antifa-type, “When the police are gone, you’ll have to deal with us.” The guy wasn’t yelling. He just said it as though he meant it.

The Democrat deflection effort has only backfired on them as Americans are witnessing night after night of violence and anarchy from Antifa and BLM rioters. Biden is only offering tepid comments now because his internal pollsters have seen their numbers dropping. Their numbers are dropping because of the endless rioting, the dismal DNC telethon, and the success of the Republican Convention coverage in the last two days. But it’s also telling that he posted a basement tweet only after a couple of looters in Kenosha got shot.

Joe Biden needs to call Bill Clinton in to help him craft his messages.  Clinton was a master at telling different crowds contradictory things that they wanted to hear.  Within the span of days, Clinton could be for or against raising taxes on businesses, or for or against welfare reform, all depending on who his audience was that day.  Clinton could coach Biden on telling people he supports the cops/property owners or the rioters depending on who he was talking to.

Exactly. The same for gun control laws. The Sullivan Act was passed in New York because the waterfront and warehous robbery crews didn’t like getting shot at by the owners and hired security of the businesses being robbed, so the thieves reached out to Tammany Hall.

Gee, I wonder what political party Tammany Hall was with.

    Richard,

It stinks of Soros. I don’t have a shred of actual evidence. However, I would bet you dollars to donuts that we could trace these clowns back to this biggest jerk of them all. The clowns in the streets reflect the mentality in full. There is no real crime and they know it. They are “protesting” fantasy narratives. Have you noticed what they look like in the streets? They are jumping around like they are in a Kung Fu movie. This level of goofy indoctrination is totally unnatural. Anyone who is seriously politically committed never acts this way. These are mentally ill conscripts into a fantasy woke army. Andy Ngo has been dutifully following these maniacs for 3 or 4 years hoping that someone in the mainstream media would finally realize what is going on. It took whole city business districts burnt to the ground for everyone to start listening.

I want the evidence too. I don’t have the resources to get it. Somebody should help Andy Ngo a little and I think we’d see the real connections laid out. The Democrats wasted 3 years falsely claiming that our elections were compromised by a foreign power. The stink of Soros is so heavy in this I can’t begin to tell you but yes we must have real evidence. We don’t deal in narratives, they do. Follow the money. Maybe Peter Schweizer ought to give Andy Ngo a helping hand. Then I think you’d have your evidence.

Correct me if I am wrong, but did not Blake’s wife call the cops? Were the police not responding to a DB call? That is relevant.

It hasn’t been revealed who made the call. Blake has never been married. It was a domestic incident call. He was wanted on a warrant issued July 7 for felony sexual assault, but police do not seem to have been executing the warrant at the time of the call.

James Lileks: The Marxists are showing up with rifles; there are reports of a militia en route to confront the protestors.

I listened to the police feed for a while. Vehicles were showing up with blacked out or missing plates; officers were running plates on every car parked. A homeowner called and said suspicious people were in tall bushes on the property; police found an ammo cache. Police, or US Marshals (who were there), made numerous reports of people wearing all black carrying long guns. Police complained that the night before, National Guardsmen did not have radios so it was difficult to coordinate.

There is, ironically enough, a nice Civil War Museum on Lake Michigan in downtown Kenosha. I’ve taken our youngest son there several times as he’s a history lover.

The Civil War museum is outstanding. The opening setting filmed at Old World Wisconsin putting you in the battle rivals anything I’ve seen elsewhere.

    Thanks for the clarification.

The biggest and most obvious clue is the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which is run by one of Soros’ people. They’re surfacing in a number of places, backed by millions of dollars in “free” cash, and bailing out rioters who then immediately go out and riot some more.

The National Lawyers Guild, which coordinates with Antifa and gives them legal support, is funded by the Open Society Foundations, also funded and organized by – you guessed it – George Soros.

When you start looking at funding for the more-questionable or outright awful left-wing organizations, you always find either direct funding from Soros money, or people who get their start with grants from Soros.
