During a discussion with a friend I was lauding the praises of Ricochet (always hoping to get new members) and told her the members were an assorted collection of fun personalities and some of the smartest folks around. She asked why I held that ‘opinion’. I told her it’s not an opinion. That we literally have rocket scientists amongst the top professionals from medical, legal and academia. She replied, “I know a lot of dumb lawyers”. I tacitly had to agree.
So I came home and jumped on The Google to reinforce my point and found this at Alexa.com. Not that everyone who’s gone to graduate school is brilliant, but…

I have a bit of a magical relationship with Carmina Burana. Whenever I listen to it spontaneously I have a great day. I can’t listen to it with that in mind or it doesn’t work, but if I just play it on a whim I’m a happy camper.
He could pronounce “Alinsky” well enough….
He didn’t know how to pronounce corpsman.
Couldn’t understand the word to start with; a lack of sight-reading in elementary school, poor fellow. Phonics is not helpful here. :-)
