You Is Smart!
During a discussion with a friend I was lauding the praises of Ricochet (always hoping to get new members) and told her the members were an assorted collection of fun personalities and some of the smartest folks around. She asked why I held that ‘opinion’. I told her it’s not an opinion. That we literally have rocket scientists amongst the top professionals from medical, legal and academia. She replied, “I know a lot of dumb lawyers”. I tacitly had to agree.
So I came home and jumped on The Google to reinforce my point and found this at Alexa.com. Not that everyone who’s gone to graduate school is brilliant, but…
Everyone, please welcome the newest Ricochet member @LisaKoers.

He also mixed up which one was called a field versus a park.
Well remember you have to have a public position and a private one.
Yeah, but everybody’s private position on baseball is that it’s intolerably boring.
Way to start a flame war, Chuck. Maybe you should make your own thread with that premise.
Fine. I take it back. I was just ashamed to admit how exciting I find it to watch guys adjusting their cups.
Hi Lisa,
Here’s the link to the Ricochet Film Society, a hifalutin’ name for a group for folks who like to discuss film, actors, directors, screenwriters, recommend movies, or discuss new technologies, what have you.

Yes, @arahant is correct, several of us post movie reviews from time to time or discuss movies, actors, directors, etc. Here are few links to some of my posts:

Enjoy.
How are there almost 100 comments on welcoming one new member? Not sure if all threads end up this entertaining or informative but I appreciate the help, the laughs and the twists & turns this thread has taken.
Most threads are this way.
That’s why it’s called Ricochet.
You made a good point, Lisa. Lots of people – well, hundreds, really – never post anything at all, and that’s cool. When I first joined, I did spend a while just reading and enjoying, then one day I had to comment, then one day there was that news item that I just HAD to post.
So I just hope you enjoy it here, whatever you do. :)
M O O N , that spells Ricochet. Laws yes.
I don’t read or quote Stephen King any more. What a train wreck that guy turned out to be, eh?
Welcome @lisakoers – I am fairly new here myself and am swimming though the myriad of fantastic content within. And based on the graphic posted I am bringing down the price of houses in this neighborhood.
Car accident rattled him mettinks.
Darn, all of a sudden I feel an urge to earn a graduate degree…
But in what?
I am a never-finished college type. However, I can fold fitted sheets which according to the internet nowadays is akin to performing black magic. So I have that.
Wow @lisakoers, You Is Popular!
If some don’t know about that accident, they need to research it. He is lucky to just be alive he was so badly injured. And it did change his personality. I give him a pass and ignore what he says. He is still creative.

Some folks can’t find a job.
I remember that. He nearly died. The driver’s dog was in his lap or something. I’ve been a King fan since day 1, and while I wish I’d never found out about his political views, I still like his writing. In the 80s, he sent me one of my get well cards that had a big scary nurse on it. I had written “Wilkes” on her name tag as an homage to Annie Wilkes in Misery. King sent me that card in the mail and signed it “Beast wishes from your Number One Fiend” hahaha. He also sent me autographed copies of all his books including The Dark Tower. I just wish he and others of my favorite celebs would stop telling me their politics.
My lovely wife and I heard a little something about Stephen King on our Honeymoon. We honeymooned in Waterford, Maine at the Bear Mountain Inn. There the innkeeper told us about a nearby apple orchard that was losing money and some developers were looking to purchase to turn the land into condos. Stephen King heard about it, and bought the orchard under his sister’s name to keep them out. Amanda and I of course had to get apples from there. They were delicious.
That night after we ate the apples, Maine experienced a freak earthquake. To this day we blame the Stephen King Apples.
I never sent him a card or anything, figured he would receive hundreds of thousands and didn’t need anymore. So, you are so lucky!
Welcome Lisa!
To mangle a Neil Diamond lyric… I is I cried… I is said I…
I see a catastrophe coming and I’d like to head it off at the pass. Can we please amend the CoC to prohibit Neil Diamond sing-alongs?
Hahahaha…
do you have a musical preference? I can mangle all kinds of lyrics. I is multi talented… (except when it comes to folding fitted sheets… )
No joke, my favorite kinds of music are music without lyrics (Classical, New-age, House…), and music where you can’t understand the lyrics (Punk & Opera).
Carmina Burana!
Klaatu barada nikto!
Aku-Aku!
I tried to make rocket science obsolete… and then I went to law school.
Welcome, Lisa!
