Handel Defeats Ossoff in Georgia Special Election
Republican Karen Handel has defeated Democrat Jon Ossoff in Georgia’s 6th District special election to replace HHS Secretary Tom Price. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Handel received 52.7 percent to Ossoff’s 47.3 percent.
The contest garnered significant national attention as another chance for Democrats to take a GOP seat and send a message to President Donald Trump. Ossoff, a political newcomer, raked in a staggering $23 million from across the nation, as well as high-octane political and celebrity endorsements. As with other touted Democratic efforts since Trump’s inauguration, however, it was all for naught.
Note: Being a political professional, I did offer the most important insight of the evening as the first votes rolled in.

The dems lost because they continued to act like coastal elites? I’m surprised :)
Can you imagine if all of that money used in the attempt to foist Pajama Boy Ossoff on GA-6 and us had been deployed to improve our infrastructure? It doesn’t matter that wouldn’t have gone all that far, it would have been infinitely more useful.
Breaking news: Democrats change their unofficial symbol from a donkey to a rented mule.
I don’t know: mules are quite smart.
No, Ossoff:
Omg. He really does look like Pajama Boy.
Thank God for those Macedonian ‘bots!
I must disagree. Did you hear those huge cheers when Handel thanked the president? Did you hear the Trump Trump Trump chants? Don’t kid yourself my friend. The 6th Congressional District was sending a huge message to Washington DC. I’m not even sure Handel understands why she won.
Do you know what </sarc> means?
Jon Ossoff – the biggest Democratic dreamboy since Ned Lamont.
Mmmmwwwwahahahaaaa…
So grumpy. Did the polls lead them astray? Again…
Missed it.
I believe Andrew Klavan says it best: ‘I will use their salty tears to season my meat’.
This was the most satisfying of the special elections this cycle so far.
I know what I’ll be making my coffee with in the morning:
Happy to see the left lose, but Handel is your basic run of the mill chamber of commerce republican, in favor of open borders. Will never see a spending bill that favors big business that she couldn’t happily support. Which gets this country nowhere. Tim
I was just reminded that Handel is the Komen official who the feminists drummed out because they stopped giving money to Planned Parenthood. That just makes the whole thing that much sweeter.
Plucky female wins over big money carpetbagger. I can’t wait for the glowing report on “All Things Considered.” Bets?
Sweeter yet: Planned Parenthood dropped $730K to beat her.
BwhahahahaHAH!
If out of state donations favored Republicans they would be made illegal, and crazily the Republicans would vote for it, the old reach across the aisle and all, y’know.
I love every pixel of this picture.
Think of all the lives Handel saved right there!
Damn. You beat me to the “c” word. (Was it used in the Republican campaign?)
Does anyone else find it grotesque that you can run for national office as a “representative” from a district where you are not even eligible to vote?
…but androgynous; seems appropriate to me.
