Handel Defeats Ossoff in Georgia Special Election

Republican Karen Handel has defeated Democrat Jon Ossoff in Georgia’s 6th District special election to replace HHS Secretary Tom Price. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Handel received 52.7 percent to Ossoff’s 47.3 percent.

The contest garnered significant national attention as another chance for Democrats to take a GOP seat and send a message to President Donald Trump. Ossoff, a political newcomer, raked in a staggering $23 million from across the nation, as well as high-octane political and celebrity endorsements. As with other touted Democratic efforts since Trump’s inauguration, however, it was all for naught.

Note: Being a political professional, I did offer the most important insight of the evening as the first votes rolled in.

The most important special election in the history of the Republic…. means nothing now that the Democrat lost.

Most polls had it too close to call, or Ossoff(-ication) with a slight lead.

    Nevertheless, she persisted.

Ossoff didn’t live in the district. He attempted to run as a moderate/conservative Dem. The elite billionaire Democrats, none of them from Georgia, tried to buy this election. Talk about collusion. Ossoff was a San Francisco liberal…a wolf attempting to wear sheep’s clothing. Hurrah for the Georgians.

The Dems can’t buy an election. BWaaaaHaahaahaahaaaha.

    Dem strategy going forward.

    A) Double down on election fraud

    B) Nancy Pelosi authoring legislation that Republicans are only 2/5 human. Therefor their votes shall be tallied accordingly.

Jon Gabriel, Ed.: The contest garnered significant national attention as another chance for Democrats to take a GOP seat and send a message to President Donald Trump.

What message would that have been and why do they think Trump would care at all about who won this election?

Hahahaha! Yay! He wasn’t even eligible to vote in the district. The Dems simply cannot believe the will of the people. They can’t get it through their pointy little heads. Their pointy exploding little heads.

Well, obviously, the fact that it was so close in such a heavily Republican district proves that the Dems were right about Trump being a drag on the party. </sarc>

It’s probably a better strategy to just shoot Republican congressmen and hope to win the resulting special election to fill the vacancy.

This fact right here is enough to make me glad he lost. I think funding for state elections should come from within the state – not from outside of it.

Republicans should take this as others have said and govern. A win is a win. The truth has swung right for now but it could shift again. Do what you can, while you can.  The right leaning campaign of Ossof was a smart tactic (+the millions of $s) it could work elsewhere.
