Canuckistan Legalized SSM 10 Years Ago. Here’s What the US Should Expect Next

Laws will have to be re-written, for one thing; words like “husband” and “wife” have to be removed, along with the phrase “natural parent.” But there’s much more…

Because this process will have to be repeated in all 50 states and Washington D.C., there are likely lots and lots and lots of lawyers popping champagne corks today.

Some people respond badly. Some people respond with an attempt at reconciliation.

And are those interactions more or less contentious and angry than those in the current thread? That, at least, is how I took the question.

I think that they’re about the same.

Well, there goes the justification for Rob’s business model.

Jojo:Obviously Joseph, I can’t argue with what you have learned from experience, but for what it’s worth I’ll throw in a caution about over generalizing and definitely caution about learning what women want/do from some of the more militant men’s rights websites. When I was fairly newly married I read a stupid feminist book that gave me a totally unwarranted and unhelpful resentment for a while. But my husband is such a doll it was not possible to really resent him, and over time I came to worship the ground he walks on and that has lasted for decades.

Hey! I did that, too, JoJo—only it wasn’t just one stupid feminist book.
Boy, I missed a lot on this thread today. Sheesh.

I feel very flattered to be defended in the same breath with Midge, Mike!

Ah, but he doesn’t have us on his blog, Basil…

OK, but you’ve also never been married, right?

Many of the American women who make not having an antagonistic relationship with their husband a high priority are those who intend to wait until marriage for sex.

I don’t mean to be insulting, but how old are you? I’m forty-six…

To you, just a slip of a girl, a tidge past thirty. My husband was about your age when he first met me in my twenties. You can read the story of how my husband won me over here in “Nerds Got Game?” – which ought to indicate to you that I approve of men learning “game” to improve their prospects.

I am a Christian woman, but because of my academic interests (at first physics, quickly changing to math), I’ve typically run with a really bohemian crowd. I became the confidante or “confessor” to many of my guy-geek friends simply because I was the one girl in their circle they hadn’t slept with and weren’t going to sleep with.

I’m also the gal responsible for this poster

    Q9ZNs

which, I feel as one nerd to another, ought to be a bond between us.

It took me awhile to figure out what was written on their backs….I get it now! Cool!
