Nikki Haley Announces

. . . her bid for the GOP nom. I suppose it’s time to send some reporters to Mar-A-Lago to await the white puff of smoke that indicates DJT has chosen a derogatory nickname; wonder what it will be. Thought Nikki Fail-y would be good at the UN. Big disappointment! Iran and China still members.

Well, that’s not fair. The story says he approved and welcomes the competition.

She’s more interesting than Pence and more electable than Pompeo. She’d wipe the floor with Harris in debates if Joe fades away. Palin-endorsed. Jan. 6 critic for the moderates. Parents were immigrants. Interesting addition to the mix, no?

If she is one of those globalists who is against sanctions on Russia, we don’t need her.

    I like. She’ll make a great president.

She won’t be the nominee, nor will she be president.

I suppose I should say that she’d make a decent POTUS, certainly better than the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. But that doesn’t translate into being the nominee, nor the eventual winner. The victor in 2024 is most likely to be Trump, DeSantis, Biden, or (I shudder to think) Harris.

“Nikki Fail-y” is good, but when the time comes, I’d go with “Clique-y Haley.”

All I can think of is:

    “Hey Nicki you’re so fine”

“You’re so fine you blow my mind”

    “Hey Nicki”

    Ba Boom Tap

    “Hey Nicki”

    Ba Boom Tap.

Uh oh.  Thelonious, you got me thinking of another song, one by Prince.  I doubt that even Trump would use the song title as Haley’s nickname.

If she’s the nominee, I won’t bother to turn up. The NT crowd taught me that one. I won’t vote for another Republican that I don’t like.

You shouldn’t be learning things from idiot losers.

They broke the contract, not me. I voted for Romney, I voted for McCain, I voted for for Bob [redacted] Dole. Then they did everything they cold to tear down a candidate I did support. So never again. If that means the Dems win, then so be it. It’s not like she would make any difference.

Do you think Haley would be as bad as Romney or McCain?

I suppose the biggest problem she might have would be the Dims exploding over the first woman president not being a Dim, like happened with nominating Janice Rogers Brown to SCOTUS.

They would claim she isn’t a real woman, or a real minority.

Oh, now they know what a real woman is??

Hmmm.  Seems to me that globalists are against restrictions on trade between countries, which is why we got Trump to oppose them.  Maybe the globalists and anti-globalists have switched places now. I think we need an up-to-date scorecard.

DeSantis / Haley? I guess it’s one of those half full / half empty things. Are they a couple of regular folks that, coming from modest backgrounds, demonstrate meritocracy in action by becoming WEF young leaders and palling around with Leon Panetta on the one hand, and getting into Harvard and working for the DoJ on the other? Or have they been captured by the establishment? A little of column A and a little of column B?

I’m not a huge believer in the usefulness of presidential debates as they’ve been constructed. Sometimes we get useful nuggets, but I’m not convinced the value is higher than the cost. The 2016 may be a rare exception.

As for Nikki Haley – I feel like the only reason I really know about her is some vague memory of her real-talking at the UN while she served there in the Trump administration. I’ll need to see a lot more before I can make an assessment with any degree of confidence.  A Rogan appearance or two would go some way toward that, or some other long-form not-necessarily-friendly format.

DeSantis has proven that he can get around the media. The enemy of Republicans is the media more than the Democrats. Nicki Haley hasn’t demonstrated that yet.

I think she was an incredibly successful governor.  Just ask the people in NC who’s businesses went to SC.  She did a great job in my opinion (as someone who worked there often)

Also was a really popular governor which is a good thing.

No, we don’t.  Graham gets re-elected every time because he wins the too populated primary. None of the other six candidates can pull a majority with his name recognition.

Nikki Hailey was a terrific governor. DeSantis is my first choice but she’s alright.

*The SC flag is unusual. The palmetto tree and the crescent moon pay homage to a Revolutionary War battle. Get used to it (and her) being called Islamic.

I don’t doubt what you say, but it always makes me wonder when popular politicians quit their gig without moving “up”. Did she quit* the governorship to run for president and then took the UN ambassadorship when her presidential bid failed?

*I think all politicians should resign their current positions if they’re running for a different one – I would view that as a good sign of integrity.

Of course he approved. The more the field is packed with vanity candidates, the more likely Trump is to win. Trump is likely to lose a one on one race with DeSantis. Trump has to be heavily favored in a race against DeSantis and a field of twenty. Trump greatly welcomes all insignificant additions to the field.

He is rooting for Kaisch to run again- you know the candidate who basically said all you bigots &  knuckle draggers should vote for me…

No.  There were oodles of Republicans running for president in 2016.  Nikki Haley was not one of them.
