California Mother of 2 Beheaded
This unfortunate woman didn’t foolishly travel to one of those tragic regions of the middle east. She was on the sidewalk, near her own home, in the middle of the day:
A woman was beheaded Thursday in San Carlos, KRON4 has confirmed. She was killed in the area of Laurel Street and Magnolia Avenue at 11:50 a.m.
The woman was beheaded by a man with a sword. The suspect, an adult male, was detained and has since been placed under arrest for murder, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman was 27 years old, KRON4 confirmed through a source. Authorities said the woman had two children; their ages were not disclosed.
San Mateo County authorities say the suspect and victim knew each other, and this incident is believed to be an isolated incident.
Isolated incident? Doesn’t that make you feel better? The perpetrator rarely beheads women.
All these isolated incidents are really starting to stack up. It seems that every major city is achieving new records in homicides, carjacking, and robbery. Criminals are so brazen, they even livestream their crimes on the internet. They have no fear of arrest, no fear of punishment … no fear of god, man or reason.
UPDATE: Jose Solano Landaeta, a former boyfriend of the dead mother, was arrested by police shortly after the incident for homicide, the victim has been identified by her family as Karina Castro.

weird, I don’t see much info about the person that did it. I suspect if he could be connected to MAGA there would be all sort of info about him down to underwear size.
given he is most likely a Left protected class I suspect he will get the minimal of any punishment while the maximum of any protection
And I just read iWe’s post on “destroying the evil in your midst”. Even if the perpetrator is convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole, it will take at least a decade to get through the courts.
Jose Rafael Solano Landaeta. He is the father of one of her children and she had a temporary restraining order on him. Link.
Mr Landaeta’s fathering of her child and the restraining order were predictable. So is his schizophrenia. One wonders if he is a citizen or an illegal.
Let Me guess: There were absolutely no signs of His criminal propensities before the beheading… no, wait, the restraining order. He was a fine upstanding Citizen that’s why She put out and had a child with Him.
Wonder why the restraining order did not stop him? Maybe they needed a law to make beheading illegal and a sign saying the same.
So there seems to be a record of domestic abuse.
And there only was one.
I wonder if he made bail?

I wonder whether he was a pot smoker? We see so many violent schizophrenics nowadays. Where do they come from? Marijuana has been been linked to mental problems. Even the NIH tentatively considers there to be a connection.
Evil has been unleashed. When a civilization refuses to enforce its own laws its days are numbered, and we’ve been refusing to enforce our our own laws for many years.
I have a friend whose brother was drafted during the Vietnam War and started smoking pot. He was diagnosed schizophrenic in his early twenties, and that was back when pot wasn’t as concentrated as it is now. Yes, it’s one anecdote, but my friend attributed his brother’s disease to marijuana even before the data started coming in. It definitely isn’t as benign as it’s made out to be.

Once the ALLEGED perpetrator is released pursuant to the compassionate, progressive bail reform initiatives, he can again contribute to the wonderfully diverse tapestry that is his community. There is no doubt that centuries of systemic repression by those in power contributed to the root causes of his behavior, which some may view as wrong. But of course, there is no objective standard by which we can condemn his behavior. Instead, we should do our best to understand the cultural nuances of his lived reality. It is we who are at fault in failing to understand.
I found this humorous and true….. I suspect the ALLEGED perpetrator will be out on his own recognizance fairly quickly.
I can not speak to the schizophrenic, but my childhood friends that found drugs early have definite mental impairments. It is sad to see people you knew were bright when they were young now seem to be just above stupid 50 years later.
I may be straying too close to victim-blaming, but the pattern of sex, pregnancy, domestic violence, restraining order, followed on occasion by murder seems unnervingly common. The victim’s father claims that he saw immediately that the guy was bad news, yet the woman continued the sexual activity that resulted in pregnancy. Maybe if women didn’t boink every guy that presents a convincing story they might reduce the opportunities for evil men to do their evil? That’s not to reduce the man’s responsibility for his own actions, but women can also reduce their chances of becoming a victim. The concerns laid out in Jane Austen novels are not just anachronistic issues of a bygone time. They represent continuing issues of human nature that men and women should continue to be concerned with.
That’s where I was going with My comment above.

Of course, sometimes rebuffing those crazies leads to murder too. But it does seem less frequent.

One prominent example is actress Rebecca Schaeffer who was killed by a guy who she had never met until the day he killed her.
It’s the “‘sleep’ with dogs get ‘but I’m a single Mom’ victim status for the rest of Yer Life” discussion, apparently.
That has absolutely nothing to do with what is being discussed Here unless Yer advocating that women should have kids with losers and stalkers so that the losers and stalkers don’t kill Them.
Just the opposite. I was pointing out that avoiding having kids with stalkers, even never having met them, doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t end up killing.
