Please President Trump, Don’t Make Netanyahu’s Mistake

I hope Trump does not make Netanyahu’s mistake.

The reason a leftist government came to power in Israel was due to Netanyahu’s ego.  There would have been a conservative government if Netanyahu had been willing to cede leadership of the Likud party to someone else. But his ego prevented him from doing that. And this same scenario is likely to unfold in the upcoming elections in Israel.

Now in the US, we see the same potential disaster in the making.  Don’t get me wrong, Israelis love Trump. He moved the  US embassy to Jerusalem, tore up the Iran deal, and has grandkids who attend a Jewish day school.  But if he would pass the mantle of leadership to DeSantis, there is a much better chance of conservatives retaking the White House in two years and, who knows, maybe both houses of Congress this November, which would be truly beneficial for Israel, to say nothing of the US.

    Hi Drew,

I have given $100 to DeSantis. Money talks. To quote the Dems, “Early Money is like Yeast.”

    Gary

Why give money to a guy with 10x the money of his competitor? Maybe give the money to Mike Lee, who needs the money. Or, is he too conservative for you?

This was not the the DeSantis re-election campaign, this was to the “Ready for Ron” PAC seeking to draft him to run for President.

Back in 2016, I really liked Mike Lee.  I was so inspired when he fought Trump on the floor of the 2016 Convention in Cleveland.  But Mike Lee became one of the pod people, and bragged to Trump that he was working 14 hours a day before January 6th to recruit fraudulent electors.  Mike Lee is dead to me.  I have already given $100 to Evan McMullin, and I don’t regret that one bit.

They’d also rather have abortion on demand, no borders, high energy prices, jobs going overseas, skyrocketing inflation, people poor and starving, a woke military, and an oppressive dunderhead in the White House.

But I am willing to accept Republicans who are election skeptics, just not election deniers who have been endorsed by Trump.

What in the world is an election skeptic and an election denier. This sounds like more James Carville wordsmithing to obscure the issue and mislead people. The election happened. It was fraudulent.

An Election Denier says “the election in 2020 was fraudulent and Trump is the rightful President.  An Election Skeptic says, “I am concerned about the results of the 2020 election, but I note that even former Attorney General Barr said that there is no evidence of fraud sufficient to overturn the election results.”

I believe that Trump won the 2016 election, and Biden won the 2020 election.

I also believe that the world is round, that the Nazis killed 6 million Jews in the Holocaust, that Americans walked on the moon in 1969, that neither George W. Bush nor “the Jews” knew about 9/11 before the attack, and that despite the entries of my 4 year old great-niece, Santa Claus really isn’t real.

I’m pretty sure at one point Gary said he preferred Egg McMuffin to Mike Lee. He can correct me if I’m wrong.

His name is Evan McMullin, and yes, I have already given him $100 in the current campaign.

It was fraudulent. What’s to deny or be skeptical about? It sounds like a reincarnation of the 12 Flavors of Trump Hatred.

I don’t think the terms are hard to understand: an election skeptic is someone – like me, for example – who thinks that there was a lot of malfeasance on the part of the media and the FBI working against Trump, but that there wasn’t the kind of fraud that Trump alleges, or at least not enough to swing the election (I’m sure there’s some degree of fraud in most elections). I believe Biden won, not because he’s such a magnetic, inspiring figure but because he wasn’t Trump. I think people voted against Trump far more than they voted for Biden. I certainly reject the laughable claim that Trump won in a landslide – he barely squeaked past Hillary, one of the most toxic and unlikeable figures ever to darken the political landscape. Biden didn’t have her negatives. And I would add that I think Trump could have won if he had run a better campaign. He needed to win back independents – that disastrous first debate probably sealed his fate.

An election denier is someone who thinks Trump actually won but it was stolen from him by massive fraud.

There – was that so hard?

Can we get past the midterms, first?

Do you feel Trump will be a boost to Republican candidates this November? I love the guy’s speeches as much as anyone and I know he draws impressive crowds, but do you think his endorsement will bring a net gain of votes to the Republican candidates?

I think it’s ridiculous that people are obsessed with “contact-tracing” candidates to see if they strayed too closely to President Trump.

Worse than ridiculous. How about “offensive.”

It’s a losing strategy. These are people who are trying to divide their own party and basically handing elections to Democrats.

Here’s the only strategy you need: vote against Democrats. Who gives a rodent’s hindquarters whether President Trump endorsed them? If that’s your litmus test, please don’t vote. In your heart, you’re already a Democrat.

I am constantly imploring my family and friends who think that voting Republican is a waste. And I understand their frustration with the party, The Establishment GOP. What I am begging them to consider is that you cannot vote for any Democrat, because that party is infested with Progressive idealism run amok. Do not waste your vote this time, we need every vote that goes against the Democratic Party. Vote GOP across the board. We can reinvent the once Grand Old Party by voting for Grassroots candidates, and infuse the party with new life and new ideas, hence moving it forward into the future, and hopefully changing ours, simultaneously.

I agree.  This is my plan.

That is going to fail because it isn’t spending that is the only thing causing problems and spending is the one thing Rs haven’t consistently been solid on.

So you’ll lose on people thinking you are lying and also no confidence you’ll do any differently.

Kind of like Mitt Romney running against Obamacare after Obamacare was modeled after the exact system enacted in Massachusetts when he was governor.

I wish Republicans would stop saying this. It’s just not true. ObamaCare was a 3,000-page two-part bill that had one thing–the individual mandate–from Romney’s original healthcare insurance reform bill. Obama used that one thing to bludgeon Romney, and the Republicans fell for it. Obama came to Boston to make a speech at Faneuil Hall to nail the coffin shut on Romney’s Republican support. Obama is not a nice guy. Romney was the only Republican he thought was a viable competitor.

And at no time did Romney ever recommend those reforms for the nation. Massachusetts has a unique healthcare financial environment, and his plan which preserved private-sector healthcare was a good thing for us at a time when the healthcare system in Massachusetts was on the verge of financial collapse.

I could go and on here. It’s a pet subject of mine, that Romney’s healthcare plan was not the same as the ACA, and I am really upset with Romney these days, but Republicans really need to be careful about being manipulated by the Democrats. We need to be suspicious of everything they say.

This was not an area of Romney’s record that gave me any particular problems. As a matter of fact, I was very supportive of Romney and very disappointed that he seemed to faltered badly in the latter stages of his campaign along with the weak media coverage of Obama Middle East policy. Any favorable views of Romney went down the tubes with his later performance carpetbagging in Utah and opposing Trump’s Presidency.

    I agree.

    Tell it, Marci!

And even *if* Romney’s plan was identical to Obamacare, by some metric, ObamaCare is 100’s of times larger, and works at the federal level, violating the 10th Amendment, instead of the state level, where these things should be handled.

And Romney was too clueless to point that out.

Like people care about the difference between federal and/or state laws.  As long as they get what they want for free it is all good.

Just one example. I have only listened a few times. Knowing that they stood in opposition to President Trump was more than enough for me. I hope they are enjoying the Biden years.

I’m glad I don’t go there. Why would people who allegedly support individual freedom have such views that support mandatory unproven jabs for a virus like Covid-19 that is fatal only for a narrow range of people.

They don’t even “allegedly” support individual freedom, do they? They support obedience to the total state.

I heard a different take on Biden – being God’s punishment on America…….that seems about right.

Of course, and it started in 1962 when prayer was banned from the public schools.

The GOP will not be POTUS in 2024 and it will be Trump’s fault. No matter who runs.

Trump would be President now and not even eligible for the ballot in 2024 if serious crimes were not committed, including from within the federal bureaucracy, with no official response throughout his four-year administration. Anything in 2024 can hardly be Trump’s fault.

But when the GOP loses in 2024 it will not because the system has been corrupted to the point that no GOP can win.  It will Trump’s fault because his existence will keep the GOP running from getting the +30 or so points necessary for a GOP win.

But instead we got Blake Masters who Commentary just ripped apart today.

Of course they did. Because they’d rather have Democrats running the country.

They’d also rather have abortion on demand, no borders, high energy prices, jobs going overseas, skyrocketing inflation, people poor and starving, a woke military, and an oppressive dunderhead in the White House.

It would appear that you have never listened to the Commentary Podcast.

I have! I was entertained by J-Pod shrieking about those terrible people who refused to take the COVID jab. He screamed at them, insulted them, called them babies and chickens and he blamed them for keeping his beloved New York locked down. I should have been offended, but he was too much the stereotype of a hysterical little girl, and I was amused instead.

However, it would appear that you have never listened to your beloved RINO/Democrat policy prescriptions. Wanna talk about policy?

I’m not sure he can. He’s in the cult of the cult of personality.

I hope and pray that we win the Presidency in 2024, provided that Trump is not the nominee.  If Trump is the nominee, the election will be about Trump.  If anyone else is the nominee, the election will be about the policies of Joe “Jimmy” Biden.

Only because your contingent makes it about him. Because every NT knows they would be pilloried on policies, it is absolutely necessary that they focus on Trump’s offensiveness to their snobby noses. Otherwise, they’d be recognized as the empty suits that they are.
