Why Electing Speaker Donald Trump Would Be Best for Everyone
Let’s face it: we need to put Trump somewhere until he’s struck with dementia or he visits what Shakespeare called the “undiscovered country.”
What better position than Speaker of the House of Representatives. He doesn’t have to be a member of Congress. And, this way, he doesn’t have to run for President again. But, best of all, he gets to be at the center of attention. Who wouldn’t want to read the expression on his face as Biden is (nervously, to be sure) giving a SOTU address? Now, lest you think this is purely tongue-in-cheek or fanciful thinking, keep in mind that at least 4 groups benefit.
Let’s walk through it:
Pro-Trump Republicans
If you want Trump campaigning with you, then this is too easy. Until the GOP takes back the White House, it gives Trump a symbolic, but substantive leadership role in the party.
GOP Presidential Hopefuls
These guys want to replace Trump and offer a new way forward. If he’s preoccupied on Capitol Hill then they don’t have to worry about the competition.
Democrats
Trump has made life so easy and enjoyable for candidates, fundraisers, copywriters, and other operatives who’ve hadn’t expressed an original thought in at least 15 years.
“Orange Man Bad!” all day long.
Media
Essentially the same thing as #3 but for them it’s ratings.
TL;DR
Everyone has a reason to have a Speaker Trump:
- Media
- Republican presidential candidates
- Democrats
- Republican House members

He’d be better suited for a new position: Tweeter of the House.
Oh god no. Trump is a walking cluster F. He has made that work for him in business but in politics not so much. Sure he has good instincts but in the end while he was able to grab the ball he was not really able to forward it down the field all that much.
Or the White House, for that matter?
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Hater
LOL. I’m going to assume you mean that in the most civil way.
I’ve requested MTG as majority leader of the Senate – so make of it what you will.
As long as we’re talking about fantasies, mine is that Donald Trump completely forgets about politics and puts his focus back on the business world. I think he should buy up a bunch of gas stations and create a nationwide chain, called Trump’s Pumps. He could make his own TV commercials where he insults rival gas station chains, giving them nicknames that his fans will find clever. He could sell a variety of knick-knacks like Trump hats and shirts in them. Tons of motorists would drive past five other gas stations just so they can buy their gas from The Donald. He could probably sell Trump brand soda and chewing gum. Maybe not just regular gas stations, but trucks stops! Truckers love Trump. It’s a golden opportunity for him.
But at Trumps Pumps….
You can also buy ladies shoes!!! That is marketing genius.
Hmm, I like the sound of it but it could backfire. I’m picturing my mom and step-dad on a trip and needing gas. They love Donald Trump (my mom has the autographed red MAGA cap to prove it) so of course they would want to buy gas from him. But if my step-dad knows my mom might get distracted looking at shoes and this could turn a 5-minute stop into 45 minutes, the deal is off.
President Trump doesn’t strike me as having the legislative temperament. He is very much an executive. While the Speaker needs to be a leader (executive), he needs to be a legislator first.
