A Couple of Thoughts on the Biden MiniTrue

Thought the First:  Isn’t this just typical? This Ministry of Truth the Brandon Administration is setting up represents the ruling class’s belated recognition that people no longer trust the state or the state-aligned corporate media. In their minds, this is because people are making unfair criticisms of the Government on social media, and they have to set up an institution to counteract the Narrative. It never occurs to them that the actual problem is that the Government really is corrupt and incompetent, much less are they inclined to do anything to fix the real problem. Not even Republicans — who often campaign on “draining the swamp” — have any real inclination to do so. Even Republican Congresses under Republican presidents have never eliminated a single agency, never cut a budget, never even imposed any basic measures of accountability on Deep State bureaucracies.

Thought the Second. It isn’t going to work. The “Disinformation Governance Board” is essentially being set up as a taxpayer-funded Politifact.  Like Politifact, its mission is going to be to defend the administration and the preferred Narrative of the Democratic Party.  Ultimately, every attempt by the Ministry of Truth to reinforce the administration narrative is going to be either immediately fact-checked (“For four years I was a full professor at the University of Pennsylvania,”) or ultimately proven wrong (“Hunter Biden’s laptop is Russian disinformation.”) It is starting from a position of zero credibility, and can only go downhill from there.

The ‘Ministry of Truth’ will be a cudgel to coordinate with the MSM on the ‘correct’ messages that must be repeated. The democratic committees can’t, using all their MSM powers of persuasion, seem to get people to ignore the cost of living increases, the gas prices, skyrocketing crime, the disaster that is the Southern boarder and inflation that is eating their life savings soooo, they are going to build a message MACHINE like the MACHINE for Climate Change that can’t be questioned.

If the ‘Ministry of Truth’ says something is ‘false’ then the MSM can tell everyone that authorities have spoken, not broaching any descent. If the story is ‘true’ then repeat process.

Now the ‘Ministry of Truth’ can claim that without ‘evidence’ that the Hunter Biden’s laptop is a ‘false narrative’ then the MSM can yell at the top of their electrical lungs ‘its been verified by the Ministry of Truth, end of story!’ If you continue to talk about it then you obviously are a reactionary, you want to overthrow the government because you won’t support it as you should, you should be investigated, silenced and if needed quietly disposed of… life ruined, so to speak.

Nice ‘circle of truth’ you have there. And with such a circle, think noose shape, then what can stop the NSA, FBI, DOJ from ‘investigating’ you for going against the governments narrative from the ‘Ministry of Truth’.

    Just like settled science.

That is the plan but it really can’t succeed. The people inclined to believe the Ministry of Truth already believe the MSM narrative and the people they need to convince already distrust the government media information complex. Plus there is no way a single case like this survives 30 seconds in Federal District Court and every bit of the conservative media infrastructure will be aching to file suit the moment someone misbehaves.

It depends on whether the Filth Fifth Estate plays along.

Fortunately there is a conservative news and entertainment outlet with a proven track record against the Biden Administration.  Additionally I suspect Mr. Musk didn’t just shell out billions of dollars to let the government suppress speech without a fight.

I don’t doubt it will fail in Federal Court BUT it won’t stop anyone or especially the deep state from silencing those it sees as enemies AND using its base at Homeland Security it doesn’t have to ‘reveal’ the special investigative information it acquires for the sake of the security of the United States of America… they stand for defending the country against all evils! This will be backed by the NSA, the FBI, the DOJ and the insiders who never want their unconditional power questioned.

The star chamber that this brings into full time government control will never reveal its real internal actions and that is why it is telling you ‘Of course this isn’t against freedom of speech!’ but thinking ‘Hmmmnn… isn’t it nice that WE get to decide which speech is ‘FREE’ and which speech is dangerous.’ (dangerous to who, is not defined)

Don’t think this can happen? It just happened to the truckers in Canada. They were completely taken apart, trampled and arrested by their government and now they are tracking down participants and locking their bank accounts without any due process other than the emergency actions of the Prime Minister. (‘Nice freedoms you think you have there… hate to see you loose them. Don’ PUSH US!’)

The current deep state tried to bring down the last president and they didn’t even have a ‘Ministry of Truth’ how happy do you think they’ll be when they really get to start ‘controlling’ the narrative under full government auspices? They get to wear the mantel of ‘Righteous defenders of the voice of the people’! (NPR will steal that line I guarantee it!)

If you don’t think that Joe Biden would LOVE to pull that kind of power play (can anyone say ‘Executive Order’), then I think I can find a bridge for sale for you. He’s always played the bully and any dissent against the ‘Ministry of Truth’ and he will denounce you as unamerican, a racist, a Putin lover and a denier of the truth!

Welcome to the future of 1984.

They realize, of course, that someday we will have a Republican president who will run that office.

This doesn’t occur to them. Since they control elections, a Republican will never be elected again.

Alternatively, they know that a Republican president will never disband MiniTrue, and the bureaucrats embedded there will still control the Narrative.

Yes.  I’ve always been concerned since the 2020 election that no election will be secure again unless the government rises up to secure them all.  And this is not happening.

But there is something that I see now that I have taken too lightly — as a Duh! isn’t it obvious? thing.  Molly Ball’s Newsweek article about how the election was fortified.  It was all a PR campaign enforced by corporate America multinational entities.

According to the DC, “Laura Quinn, the co-founder of a for-profit voter database company, developed a program designed to track disinformation and halt its spread, according to Time. In her conclusions, she found it necessary to pressure social media companies to vigorously police their platforms for disinformation and immediately remove accounts and posts involving false information.”

Yes, there was deliberate ballot stuffing and electronic tabulation counterfeiting.  But the true disinformation campaign on behalf of the Democrats by the communications industry was significant.  Perhaps if Hunter Biden’s laptop had been public knowledge the results would have been different (but I doubt it).

But the purpose of the Department of Disinformation is not to control votes, but to control the dissatisfaction resulting from any election, and further to eliminate any doubt that leads to questioning election integrity.

Perhaps if Hunter Biden’s laptop had been public knowledge the results would have been different (but I doubt it).

There is a Harvard poll out showing 67% of likely voters think that the veracity of Hunter’s laptop creates an impeachable offense for Biden.

I don’t disagree that they would love to do this.  I just disagree that they can succeed.  The ones that run the country believe they can flout all existing law; however, they can’t really.  The courts still have the power to thwart them and the States still have the power to thwart them.  The states also have the power to impose real loses on corporations that go to far even billion dollar multinationals.  The key is that the Republican party has grow a pair and start pushing back and at least certain Republicans are doing this.

They succeeded in 2020.  I will grant you that.  They haven’t succeeded very much in 2022.  The vaccine mandate was overturned.  The mask mandate was overturned.  Build back better didn’t pass.  They lost in Virginia last year.  Ron DeSantis passed the parental rights bill and stripped Disney of it special carve outs.  Elon Musk is taking over Twitter.  CNN is imploding.  Biden is at 33% Approval and Harris is even worse.  In what way are they succeeding?  They still control the narrative, Federal Government, and half the states.  They are able to do and are doing damage, but to say they are winning doesn’t seem right.  Now then once the Republicans win some power assuming the do they are going to have to do something with it.  At that point you maybe right.  It is entirely possible that once the Republicans win in November they will roll over and deliver victory to the Democrats.

The courts have our backs always, always, always sounds good but we have, thanks to the liberal left, created what is colloquially called ‘Activist Courts’ and especially ‘Activist Judges’ who seem to think that the written laws are all open to ‘interpretation’.

Louise Learner weaponized the IRS and spent how much time in jail? The corruption and lies in the FISA warrants to get Trump are exposed and the heads of the FBI, the lawyers involved, the courts, the informers are all in jail for abuse of power? And the Kingpin of obfuscation and governmental and bureaucratic fiscal and power abuse Dr. Anthony Fauci? Not one and nothing is going to be done to bring any of these people to justice AND if the entire congress turned right the first scream heard from the left on legally going after any of these power freaks would be/will be ‘THE RIGHTS ABUSE OF POWER!’ (and the right will cower and same game different day, that means NO JUSTICE)

So saying that we are backstopped by the gauze curtain of the courts has not proved itself to be true.

Also the chimera of the ‘states standing strong’… please… the states are so dependent on the Federal largess that all it usually takes to make a state come to heal is a threat of withholding federal funds. DeSantis signs a ‘non-grooming’ public education bill and our fearless president says he’s siccing the Department of Education on Florida to find out how to MAKE THEM do what they are told and not what they want to do.

The ‘Ministry of Truth’ will just be codified and both sides will try to figure out how to ‘use’ it for their advantage and more abuse of power and control while abrogating more freedoms that we once held dear. The more ‘shadows’ they can cast to cover their actions the better they like it… ‘make the people afraid of their government’ and that includes not the protection of the courts but the abuse of the courts… lawfare is a real force of power, its only accomplished by a participatory court system.

I agree they can win when they move in the shadows.  They also succeed when the Republicans assume a supine position.  But they don’t always win.  If your argument is true then there is only on solution left.  I am going to continue to search for ways to avoid using that option until it is absolutely necessary.  It clearly isn’t right now.  All indications are the Democratic Party is going to be devastated in November.  Then the Republicans will have to clean house.  If they don’t we are a step closer to your scenario but we have quite a few good moves left.

Build back better didn’t pass.  Because Manchin didn’t like what they were doing to coal. And Sinema needed to go back and explain to Arizona that she agreed on open boarders?

They lost in Virginia last year.  A solid win because Terry McAuliffe said the quiet part out loud- “I don’t believe parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” and his stand on abortion was hideous. The left won’t be so ‘stoopid’ next time, ‘Keep quiet until after the election!’

Ron DeSantis passed the parental rights bill and stripped Disney of it special carve outs.  This has still to be proven effective- the Feds are ramping up their ‘influence’ through the dept 0f ed. (btw- Florida gets around 2 billion in education funds from the feds) And as far as Disney goes many on the right are defending Disney!

Elon Musk is taking over Twitter. And congress is deciding whether to call him to testify on his ‘intentions’. Hmmnn, I don’t remember them doing that to Bezos when he bought the Washington Post? Intent to quell dissent, use more POWER!

CNN is imploding.  That was Trumps fault… without Trump they didn’t have anything to incite about. And how does this actually matter what with The New York Times, MSN, The Washington Post, ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, USA Today and hundreds of newspapers and radio stations? Lets not forget Bloomberg & the Wall Street Journal pitching in.

Biden is at 33% Approval and Harris is even worse.  And that hasn’t stopped them from their flight plan in the least, the boarder isn’t going to be secured, inflation is still running amok, recession is warming up for a big inning AND Biden is still pushing for a ‘win big’ bill in congress, damn the torpedo’s, ram it through.

In what way are they succeeding?  Have you seen the gas prices, the crime rates, the infiltration of the Southern boarder? The woke military. These are all tactics to make us think we need more government to save us. AND by inculcating these into the ‘system’ they will be permeant institutions… yeah he’s been busy.

Those are called ‘features’ not bugs according to the lefts playbook.

I am hopeful that the Democrats have overstepped enough that the general population will realize it and, beginning with the next election, begin to move back toward the center. Current polls seem to reflect this.

Yes, those who run the country are now effectively free to flout all existing law.

I think that they already are succeeding.

Polls in this country are generally biased. If they can’t bury the discontent, it is bad.

They realize, of course, that someday we will have a Republican president who will run that office. Are they good with a President Trump or DeSantis determining what is “truth”?

Not with the current electoral system we won’t.  Besides, the snakes get ensconced.  You remember when NPR changed their politics under W and Trump?

The left has been looking for a way to ban speech they don’t like for a long time.  And each time they try, they have to pin a label on the speech they want to suppress.  First they tried calling it “hate speech.”  Then they moved on to calling it “violence.”  Now, the new label is “disinformation.”  They must be pretty confident about this label if they are willing to set up an official ministry to identify “disinformation.”  I think they recognized that a “Ministry of Hate Speech” or a “Ministry of Violence” would have sounded creepy.

Given how effectively government sources were used to shut down any dissenting voices on COVID, I’d say “disinformation” will be very effective.

“Disinformation Governance Board”  The name itself is as twisted and undecipherable as disinformation itself.  Is this an administrative board?  Will this board oversee the proper use and public distribution of disinformation?

Are they against disinformation?  Or are they for it, as in the “Department of Homeland Security”?

I think I know the answer, but it’s not clear from the title.

Yes. When I first saw that title for the new board, I thought it was a stupid name for a government agency; but maybe it’s very clever. Perhaps it just an agency to design the false information the government distributes.

Yes, but is it true fake disinformation or false fake disinformation?   The prefix “dis” says nothing that I can detect about the truth or falsity of information. Nor does the prefix “mis.”   It perhaps does say something about the way that information (whether true or false) is used.

I dis-agree.  (See how that works?)  The significant difference between misinformation and disinformation is going to be intent.  Aside from hidden motives, someone who was “misinformed” and then perhaps passed it along, did not do so deliberately.  (If the source of the information did so intentionally, they were giving disinformation; but an innocent recipient was still misinformed.)  But disinformation is always intentional.
