This week’s episode takes us into New York City for a look at two especially incisive ads that could only have come from the Big Apple. We also look at President Trump’s standing with white working-class voters and his general election prospects with the Economist’s D.C. Bureau Chief, James Astill. Listen today!

I appreciate that the guest was honest about the results of his visit to Youngstown, particularly since he seems to have a revulsion to Trump, and generally feels that Trump has been a net negative for the world and the U. S. It was difficult to listen to his assessment of the Trump presidency. No mention was made of the relentlessly dishonest press treatment of the Russia investigation, undoubtedly because the Spectstor was a full and energetic participant. At almost every sentence I had an alternative explanation to his negative analysis. The discussion of Brexit by both him and Henry Olsen I found astonishing to the point of laughter.

Hmm, I didn’t make it that far. I might have to listen to that.

He seems like one weird guy — a typical non-Delingpolian gentry Englishman.

He blew my mind when he said that the criminal justice reform law did not go nearly far enough. Usually I side closer to Tom Cotton regarding such things.

He was also upset that Trump didn’t fix some type of supposed income distribution or redistribution. Trump got the unemployment rate generally down as low as possible, but yes Trump is not a fan of socialism.

Everyone else would have got to Trump’s view regarding China? Trump gets no reward for seeing this? Uh, lots and lots of Americans are still making a lot of money by being pro-China.
