Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
On a website devoted to debate (civil, mind you), we can all agree that politics is not the arena for shrinking violets. Who better to remind us of this fact than the former governor of the Garden State, Chris Christie? He gives us the lowdown on his successes in a Blue State and his thoughts on how Republicans need to keep their eye on the prize. Even with the mention of “Christie Porn,” we promise listeners a PG-rated podcast.
Also, the regular gang go from the economic blockage to “Let’s Go Brandon,” from intellectuals talking about third parties to Captain Kirk back in space. (Well, kinda-space if you wanna get technical.)
Music from this week’s podcast: Man At The Top by Bruce Springsteen

Spin, I want to get past this stuff, too. However, the fault is not exclusively on the pro-Trump side. Christie said some things that were a poke in the eye to fans of Trump. He also said a lot of helpful and useful things.
I’m not trying to point the finger at Christie, either. It’s a cycle, and we need to break out of it.
As a father of four, I’ve seen this sort of thing before. It’s not helpful to try to litigate who started it this time. We just have to stop it, somehow.
Seems to me it’s the Never Trump type who keep dragging Trump into things, especially when they say they won’t ever vote for anyone “Trumpy” in the future. The rest of us can move along with the right POLICIES – which just happened to be actually implemented more by Trump than by previous GOPe candidates/presidents – but we keep getting dragged back.
The fault is exclusively on the N-T side. Stop being useful idiots of the Left. If you find yourself on the same side of an issue as Nancy Pelosi …. STOP.🛑
Even Newt, who could be an alternative to Trump, was rejected by the Establishment gOp. Look how foolish he looks when he gives the dems and SanFranNan the benefit of the doubt. This is the mistake that GOP, Inc. keeps on making. Your core base is DONE.
Trump, or his Apprentice!
“I felt the hand of Providence.”
Preach it, Brother Robinson!!
Christie is political roadkill and has no future on the national stage, though it’s obvious he is still impressed with himself…and apparently the Ricochet luminaries believe he is an important voice to listen to for his ability to heal our nation or stand athwart the socialist juggernaut. Okay. Sure. You go with that. And yes, I listened to the podcast – before anyone asks – and found the Christie segment predictable and tedious.
Who’s next for the Ricochet podcast? John Kasich? Jeb!? George Will? Billy Kristol? Mona Charen? Adam Kinzinger? Liz Cheney? My heart is all aflutter.
You have expressed my feelings … in a much better and clever way than I ever could!
JEB! was on the “flagship” a few weeks ago. I skipped over his part too, as I did with Christie.
And they at least “mirror” if not author/produce/whatever another podcast that I believe has had both George Will and Liz Cheney recently. Maybe others from your list too, although I don’t pay attention to those podcasts and so would only see it if I happened to see them on the Main Feed page or something, while looking for something else.
p.s. Did you know that Kasich’s Dad was a Postman?
Please clap
I don’t know how anyone can give Trump the benefit of the doubt. But what he meant doesn’t really matter. What he said in those two instances is damaging in the extreme.
And that’s how you get Brandon.
Yes and we will get Brandon or someone worse in 2024 and lose the house and the senate in 2022 and probably get McAwful in VA in 2021 if Trump doesn’t go away.
Only if some people don’t start to understand that their (over-)reaction to Trump, not Trump himself, is the actual problem.
I miss the inconsequential 2016 Chris Christie more than the current inconsequential Chris Christie.
And if he had any self-control over his mouth and his keyboard, he’d be President right now.
I know, I know — it’s somebody else’s fault he lost. It always is because as I have pointed out many times, the First Rule of Trump is: nothing is his fault.
It’s worked wonders for him.
We have on a regular basis and we will again. But in the meantime, I encourage you to start your own podcast and show us rubes how it’s done. Clearly, you have identified a hole in the marketplace since you have made it your business to show up in the comments of our shows to tell us how terrible we are at this. Put up or shut up, Vince!
Stabbed him in the back? Lol.
So, the strategy going forward to unify the GOP so it makes gains nationally and in the states is to continue to hurl insults at Donald Trump and his millions of followers? Good luck with that.
Golly, why hasn’t the legal brain trust of Giuliani and Powell and the election auditing skills of the Cyber Ninjas (among others) been able to prove one iota of what you’re claiming.
Why it’s a mystery fit for Detective Columbo to solve. Have at it, Lieutenant!
You’re missing the forest for the trees: what you should be troubled about is that your guy so often makes statements that are open to misinterpretation or misunderstanding.
I think he meant exactly what he said and my interpretation of it is correct. Because he has not changed or revised either statement since he made them.
Please start your own podcast and show us how it’s done. Please?
Never said that. But if a unified GOP is the goal, will we see a certain former President/future candidate take the lead on not hurling insults? Because that seems to be his brand.
It’s a two way street, Brian. And the street is not called Trump Blvd.
Rubbish.
Joke all you want but we would have won in Georgia if not for Trump’s BS.
There can be no strategy unless Trump goes away. If he doesn’t? We all lose.
Really? I must have missed the Jovan Pulitzer podcast. I gave you three names, I could have given you more. You’re afraid of all of them.
Steve Bannon, and Max McGuire are already doing this rather effectively.
The market isn’t absent conservative conversations and voices, it’s full of them, they’re just not on your podcast.
I keep driving the Main Page to see if you’ve restored it yet, and sadly drive away shaking my head at what you’ve done with the place.
Assuming facts not in evidence, especially considering what has already been proven about vote fraud in Georgia.
