Another Anti-Trump Story Retracted

There’s a long list of anti-Trump stories which have fallen apart. Examples are the Russian collusion, Charlottesville, the Ukraine conversation, slandering wounded troops, etc. Now the “subverting Georgia’s election” fable has been retracted by the Washington Post. It’s almost as if they don’t care what’s the truth. A retraction two months later is close to worthless.

Waiting for mea culpas from every Ricochet anti-Trumper who repeated the WaPo’s lie.

Well, thank goodness. And just in time for the election!

    Oh, wait….

They only printed the retraction, because the full tape recording, emerged during a records search.

Turns out the leaker sent an edited copy to to the WaPo.

Wasn’t the full recording available almost immediately? Which is why so many of us said that the way they’re characterizing that phone call is a blatant lie.

By the way, this is why we cannot fix this country unless and until we fix the Democrat media. And by “fix” I mean “utterly destroy.” (Because God knows they’re not going to rehabilitate themselves.)

And the usual idiots will still point to the original version of this story as justification for Trump’s impeachment.

Rufus, but the seriousness of the charge. Come on, man!

You know Trump would have been a dictator if not for a bunch of laws and Constitutional limitations and stuff. Just admit it.

I know the libel laws are tilted in favor of those publishing this stuff but I really hope Trump bleeds Bezos (just through the “process”). Its the only way these kind of hit jobs stop.

    Mr. Marlow has a point.

Publishing a fake quote, accusing a sitting president of staging a coup.  During an election.

    Holy crap.

One might expect that to be the end of that newspaper.  That’s a doozy of a ‘mistake.’

Of course, it was just random chance that it happened to go against the Republican candidate.  Biden is lucky this fake quote wasn’t about him – a headline like that in the Washington Post could have cost him the presidency.

    Lucky break…

But, … We were told by NTs that Trump did not believe the Constitution applied to him. You mean that joker was following it all along!

I sure hope that happens. The only way to stop them from completely lying all the time is to make it hurt when they do.

As it stands, there is zero accountability in the media. None at all. The only reason people get fired from media jobs anymore is if they happen to accidentally tell the truth.

What the press did to Trump is so horribly unfair. It’s almost too shameful to believe.

“Unfair” is too kind a word. “Evil” is a better one.

Nope. They only found it (in the Sec’y of State’s employee’s “trash” folder) after a public records request.

So that Sec’y of State employee is in prison right now, I presume?

At this point, I’d be happy if we could get NTs to stop repeating the story. However, it would be nice if WaPo and NYTimes would admit that there just might have been some irregularities in the 2020 election process.

Now that they have printed the retraction, its hard for him to sue for libel.  Its one of the ways out.

I don’t bother reading WaPo’s retractions.  I just presume the truth is the opposite of whatever I’m reading.   I stay fully informed and have more time for golf.

If my twitter feed is any indication, all the right wingers have been talking about it.  If your at least on the right you know about it.  Whether or not, anyone on the main show talks about it is another question.
