Great farewell speech, too bad it’s four years too soon.

It’s a great speech. I’m afraid it was also 4 months too late. I wish this would have been the Trump that showed up for the debates and in Georgia. I wish this had been the man of the post election process. Knowing that he has this in him and permitted the worser demons of his nature (so to speak) to predominate makes me sadder still. And his enemies–they never were just his opponents–will never let him or us forget the appearance of that devil.

He’s actually been giving a lot of speeches like this all along, yet nobody wants to report on those.

Yes, that’s true.  A couple of his State of the Union speeches come to mind, as do many, many small, generous, kind, strong, dignified, “Presidential” speeches.  But, as you say, no reports.  Unfortunately, his childish or melt-down moments or were more than reported on and were amplified and used to beat him relentlessly.  That he is still standing and can still smile and end on such a gracious note is a huge tribute to his basic decency.  That and the obviously mutually loving family.  The lack of reporting coupled with the lying reporting shamed the media and showed that they have no decency at all.  Same for the disloyal opposition.  They should be ashamed of themselves, but of course they don’t even know the meaning of the word.

And we will never know if those demons might have laid dormant if those enemies had acted with even a modicum of human decency. Who among us might not have acted with the same fury if we (and everyone around us) had been torn at, slandered, ridiculed and treated to every other form of bestial behavior by the political/media/entertainment “elites” of our time?

America will never be the same; not because of Trump but because of his enemies. I was never fully on board with Trump. “Appalachian-Americans” like myself are always a bit suspicious of boisterous New York-types. But, in seeing how he and his wife were treated, I will never have anything but a cold hatred toward those so-called “elites”.

As one of those boisterous New York types, I agree. ;)

Agree. He has given many great ones. Miss him already.

I have felt he ran a wrong headed campaign.  There did not seem to be an emphasis on his accomplishments.  Perhaps the poll data showed no one cared about the accomplishments but if you don’t defend your record, then the opponent gets to define it.

I heard they are trying to get rid of his library when they convict his impeachment. They are determine to erase him. RINOS and Democrats.

Well, don’t drop friends.  One should tolerate friends as they have to tolerate you.  If they are not really friends, that’s a different story.
