Music that Makes Me…Wanna Dance
Okay, Ricochet, this is your chance to shine. I only have a few offerings in this category, so it will be heavily dependent on you. Here’s what I’ve got. Start with something obvious:
One of my old favorites:
And another high-energy song:
What music gets your hands clapping, your feet tapping, and your derriere up out of the chair?

One more, since someone crossed the Weird Al line. One of his lesser known gems from early on.
True Confession:
I was nervous this winter that staying in the house for the entire two months of February and March would destroy my mental, emotional, and physical health. I collected some dance videos on YouTube that I would play for myself in my garage where we have a computer. :-) I spent a half hour dancing every day. :-) It kinda worked. :-)
So I have a lot of dance clips. :-)
This is an almost perfect East Coast Swing song:
Let ’em roll!
Afternoon Arahant,
Here’s a Lucky Number, Nicholas Bros, only the best,
.
Let’s Rock This Town with the Brian Setzer Orchestra…
Then there’s always Glenn Miller for the Foxtrot:
Skipsul stop sucking me into the Weird Al videos. I have to work!
okay, one more. So many to choose from in the Big Band Revival genre, like Zoot Suit Riot, but I went went this.
You know that asking that is just going to get more posted, right?
Here’s a couple;
Yes, yes indeed you do. <cracks knuckles over keyboard>

“Otis – he loves us!”
Not but an hour ago I was dancing discretely in the frozen food section with this song in my head.
I think I’d just passed a display of Bangkok Mixed Vegetables, and it set the earworm loose in my brain.
The music isn’t much, but the dance is good:
Tomorrow and Sunday are still available. Someone sign up fast!
The original “I’m a Believer” by Monkees is danceable, but it took Smash Mouth (and Shrek) to compel me to my feet.
I’d love to be able to dance like that but it’s not going to happen. Maybe I could just learn to catch a cane successfully.
These songs remind me of high school basketball games in the mid 90’s. This was one of the songs that the team liked to warm up with. We were a small school (9-12 enrollment was 100 kids) but the gym was always packed because, what else are you gonna do in the small town…
If you’re gonna go Nirvana and Offspring
If only we were all dancing in the streets instead of what’s currently going on. Sigh.
This is actually quite a toe tapper.
Naptown Funk, Navy MidShip parody on Bruno Mars Uptown Funk.
Like potato chips, and cats, you can’t have just one
Afternoon Colleen,
Well I started tapping when I was 65. It started when I saw several tap lessons for free on youtube. My favorite lessons were from Rod Howell
At 72, I am working on the advanced beginner lessons, and like many things, learning late is different than learning when one is young. It is fun. @colleenb
