Chick-Fil-A Caves
This is shocking and depressing news. Chick-Fil-A, which has long been on the receiving end of vitriol and harrasment from the LBGT Mob for operating their business based on the Christian beliefs of owner Dan Cathy (including opposition to same-sex marriage) just announced their surrender to the Mob. Specifically, Chick-Fil-A will no longer donate to the Salvation Army, the Paul Anderson Youth Home, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Over the years, Chick-Fil-A has donated millions of dollars to these and other charities. What these three charities that have been written out of Chick-Fil-A’s charitable giving have in common is that each is overtly Christian in their outlook and behavior and have been victims of the same harrasment by the LBGT Mob as Chick-Fil-A.
Chick-Fil-A is pretty transparent in why they are making this move. They are hopeful this move will prevent the type of opposition to the opening of new restaurants in progressive environs such as that of the San Antonio City Council banning of a proposed Chick-Fil-A at the local airport earlier this year. Chick-Fil-A President and CEO Tim Tassopoulos stated “There’s no question we know that, as we go into new markets, we need to be clear who we are. When there is a tension we want to be sure we’re being clear. We think this is going to be helpful. It’s just the right thing to do: be clear, caring and supportive and do it in the community.” A Chick-Fil-A spokesman stated that the chain will focus it’s charitable donations on “education, homeless, and hunger.” If so, they’ll have a hard time finding organizations that have done as much good in these areas as has the Salvation Army for over 150 years.
I don’t think this is going to work out the way Chick-Fil-A hopes it will. Chick-Fil-A has now shown that it will cave to the totalitarian LBGT Mob. With this victory in hand, the Mob will continue to push for complete capitulation to the LBGT agenda with the same ferocity they have up to this point, while conservatives (especially social conservatives) will view this as a betrayal and, if so, will frequent Chick-Fil-A a little less often. We shall see.

If I owned Chick-Fil-A, I would keep my donations private. That way no blow back for my choices.
They need to listen to Rush Limbaugh. These organizations cannot be appeased. Ever. Whatever you do is never enough.
And next week they will start giving to…
The mob would just reverse engineer by going through the records of the charities.
Just another company I will no longer do business with. The list is starting to get long.
Yeah, but even if they could, you still don’t give in; you believe what you believe, and you act accordingly.
I don’t care about chicken sandwiches really, but I really admired their quiet but firm commitment to their beliefs, even if it might cost them some business. I drove by their restaurants, noted their “Closed Sundays”, and gave them a nod and a salute. Now I don’t know what they’re thinking. It’s sad and depressing.
What pussies.
Never, never, never give in to the left . They had no need to do so. They are already the nation’s favorite fast food.
But not mine any more.
That really makes me sad. I cannot believe that they did that. I’m hoping that the founders just upped their private donations to these same organizations.
I’m afraid Chick fil A is doing the opposite of being clear. You used to know where they stood on issues. Now, not so much.
I can’t tell you how disheartening I find this development.
Here’s the thing – they make great chicken sandwiches, and sides and salads. They’re closed on Sundays. They have served protesters and law enforcement and have shown up in areas where tragedy has occurred and served, including Sunday. They’ve served those that protested them, the LGBTQ plus group, who stood in line with signs against them. Please. Stop making everything political and let this company serve the public, and buy their product. My husband eats here all the time. They are standing firm on campuses. Can we support them in their hour of contemplation and need?
I want to cry, and throw up, and break heads…..
Very disheartening. My wife and I enjoy their food, and we frequent them for quick tasty meals on the go and to support a decent organization that we felt was standing firm (always with a kind a pleasant demeanor) in the face of intense societal pressure. It feels like the most effective way to express our disappointment is to reduce our visits. My wife adores Chick-Fil-A sauce; I don’t know how she’s going to take that idea.
Here are some of the horrible things the Salvation Army does . . .
If they came out and said that they were talking about it over dinner, and decided they should change their stance on policy X, because it more fit their life philosophy because of argument Y, then we (their admirers) could consider their position and see what we think.
But they came right out and admitted that they were changing their stance so that they could have access to more lucrative markets. That’s what “cave” means. I’m bummed for them.
They’re not above criticism for caving to the woke mob, no matter how wonderful their food is – and if they’re monitoring social media, they’re already seeing the negative feedback. It’s seems pretty apparent why they made the decision that they did. My guess is that they will lose a good deal of business over this when their aim was to increase their market by placating to the militant LGBT activist mob.
The original controversy had nothing to do with corporate giving but the owner’s personal views on gay marriage and his own charitable foundation. No one ever showed that the company discriminated against anyone.
When the alphabet people first called for a boycott of Chick-fil-A, people went out of their way to eat there instead. I happened to be at a mall that weekend and the line at Chick-fil-A was ridiculously long. Most were there to show support for the company sticking to its belief and standing up to the professional outrage mob. And now . . . ?
It was just a bad management decision. If they lose 10% of their business over it, there’s no way they can recover. They’ve already blown their reputation, and they can’t get it back.
A sad day and unnecessary decision.
I am sure they have market testing their great Leftward slide. They will be fine selling their wares to the woke.
I do not respect their decision. How can you through the Salvation Army under the buss. The chicken sandwiches are good.
What you reward, you get more of. That’s the rule of ransoms. I’m surprised they didn’t know that.
Sounds like O’Sullivan’s Law is taking effect.
The Salvation Army is controversial?
They’re about the most effective/efficient charity in the country.
Indeed.
So what is more important to the owners of chick fil a, Money or principles? It seems they made their decision. I guess they never heard of white martyrdom.
John 15:18. “If the world hates you remember it hated me first”
They’ll be donating to Emily’s List soon.
What a coincidence. My long-awaited Salvation Army donation pickup is this week. Clothing, furniture, miscellaneous household items, two TVs.
I thought love is love and love wins and all that was supposed to solve everything. Can of worms, that was.
Well….Don’t get carried away Randy, although as far as the LBGT Mob is concerned they’ll keep harassing Chick-Fil-A until that happens.
