Pennsylvania State Rep Tries to Dox Pro-Lifers

“Bring it, Bible Bullies! You are bigots, sexists, and misogynists and I see right through your fake morals and your broken values,” Pennsylvania state representative [Brian Sims] tweeted May 5, after the pro-life group Live Action criticized a video Sims livestreamed May 2.

So begins another report in The Catholic Herald, on another Leftist going completely unhinged and trying to dox (i.e. publicize the names, addresses, and phone numbers to the world) both elderly and teenage pro-life protestors at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Pennsylvania.  The alleged crimes of the people he wants to dox?  Praying outside the clinic across the street, and trying to talk to women seeking abortions.  Representative Sims only gets worse, according to the article:

Shortly before posting his livestream interrogation of the woman, Sims tweeted “Planned Parenthood protesters are scum! I’ve spent years as a patient escort witnessing firsthand the hate, vitriol, hostility and BLATANT RACISM they spew. You can ‘pray for a baby at home.’ You sure as hell can feed a kid or clothe one instead. Old, fake, White, wrong!”

This is not just about abortion for Sims it seems, he also has demonstrated a deep hatred and racism towards whites, and contempt for the elderly.  It’s rather odd that he accuses the protestors of racism, considering they’re trying to save lives.  And of course like so many on the hard left today he has a deep hatred for Christianity itself, or at least, like Pete Buttigieg, a hatred for any expression of Christianity that expresses any other moral judgement or thought beyond being “nice” and feeding the poor.  Throughout his tirades he condemns Christians and Christianity for the usual charges of being judgemental, and being seen in public.  Like Buttigieg, Sims only approves of the most shallow, self-affirming, and narcissistic cherry-picking from Christianity, and otherwise wants it out of his sight:

As he approaches her, he says “I have a couple questions for you, ma’am. How many children have you clothed today? How many children have you put shoes on their feet today? Have you fed any children today, or have you say stood out in front of a Planned Parenthood, shaming people for something that they have a Constitutional right to do?”

“You can pray at home,” Sims tells the woman.  [emphasis mine]

To fools like Sims, religion in general, and Christianity in particular, has no right at all to be in public.

“You’re allowed to be out here,” Sims says to the woman, who can be seen continuing to pray the rosary. “That doesn’t mean you have a moral right to be out here. Shame on you. What you’re doing here is disgusting. This is wrong. You have no business being out here.” [emphasis mine]

This is where the Left is now, and where I and others have warned it was going for some time now: the abolition of religion from the public eye.  They’ve been remarkably consistent in their rhetoric and actions for years now, even if they have been less overt in their prior declarations.  It has long been clear that for them, the only true religions are the cults of the Radical Individual Self, and the Collective of Society.  By telling someone else that they are self-destructive, we blaspheme the former, by allowing for religion we blaspheme the latter.  The Left has been completely clear that for them, the First Amendment only protects religion inside designated religious buildings, and the home (though to a lesser extent).  Sims is simply channeling those thoughts.

Moreover, we should not for a moment think that the behavior of Sims is anything new.  I did some clinic protests myself in college, and why they were generally peaceful, there was sometimes the menace of violence.  There were some very (for lack of a better term) large and butch women in steel-toed boots who would “escort” (you can call it escorting, it looked like frog-marching at times to me) young women past the prayer lines if the girls looked at all hesitant, and we all understood that the cops would pretend not to see any shoving or isolated kicking or punching from these escorts – some of the regulars had the scars.  This was in the 1990s.

What is different now is that people like Sims can display their inner id to the entire world via live streaming (as Sims has done several times), and then bask in the adulation and accolades for his “bravery” from thousands of people across the nation.  Sims’s inner monologue is now hooked to a camera and a microphone.  Have you ever taken a microphone and pointed it back at the speaker to which it is connected?  You get an ear-splitting shriek as the mic feeds back the sound of the speaker to itself over and over, and all other sounds are drowned out.  That same feedback loop has turned Sims and others like him into a giant ear-splitting shriek of rage, angst, and even violence.  I doubt very much that Sims ever ventures outside of his own feedback loop.  That same feedback loop permeates politics as a whole too.

Fair is fair, and Sims should be censured by the Pennsylvania State Legislature, and criminally charged for provoking violence against minors and the elderly.  But unless this story gets enough public attention then I doubt anything will happen to him; anti-abortion protestors are essentially invisible as I learned 25 years ago.  Even then, 300 pro-lifers could show up to picket a clinic, but 6 or 7 screaming lunatics could counter-protest and every news crew in town would film them instead.  Moreover, Sims is, like Pete Buttigieg, very publicly and politically gay – he advertises it and makes it part of his politics, in no small part to then claim victimhood when people tell him it shouldn’t be an issue.  This further reduces the odds that he will face any serious damage unless he actually punches an old lady; no one wants to be seen as anti-gay.  Sims knows this, and this adds to that feedback loop straight to his live-streaming id.

Yet how much support or protection does Sims really have?  Time will tell.  Hopefully, justice will be done here, and Sims will lose his office.  But this is also just an early salvo in what I am guessing will be a generation of struggle to defend religion against government officials who would ban it all or pervert it to their own ends.  Moreover, the endless narcissistic live-streaming of the inner ids, and the treatment of merely being in public as opening oneself up to worldwide attack, should be terrifying in its own right.  Sim’s attempts to dox others are horrific unto themselves, and signs that we’re all living in a great glass fishbowl now.  To stand out in any heterodox way is to draw attention, but perhaps it will be the only way to deal with the mobs.

For all the illumination of the cameras, the times are getting darker for our souls.

This man presents himself as a deranged lunatic. This is not his first episode. What is the likelihood this crackpot and others like Northam, Rogers, etc., get reelected? Is there really enough people so empty of conscience that they will vote for this? Or just enough people who hate the current majority so much that they will vote for anything else, no matter how insane?

They look on him as perfectly sane.  It’s us that  are deranged.  The divide is too wide to bridge.

I am incensed about this. One of the teens is the daughter of a friend. I’m sending them money and encouraging them to sue Sims.  It’s his duty as an elected official to uphold his constituents’ constitutional rights, whether he agrees with their views or not. Instead he acted in a bullying, threatening, shaming manner.

I’ve called my state reps, both of whom are Democrats, asking them to publicly censure their colleagues for his abusive behavior. This can’t be allowed to stand.

I’m urging my friends to sue. I hope it goes all the way the Supreme Court if that’s what it takes.

And if that happens, anyone who does so who may have been/still be a Never Trump type, should re-evaluate their position in light of his Supreme Court nominees.  Or do they think they would likely receive a favorable ruling from a court with Hillary Clinton nominees?

I would actually suggest criminal charges, especially as he was threatening minor females.

I don’t know if you meant to direct this to me personally, since I was a public Never-Trumper before the election. If yes, you may not know that I recanted months ago. You can read all about it on right here on Ricochet.

No, it wasn’t directed to you.  But anyone who does pursue a legal remedy, even if a Democrat/Liberal, should be grateful for the Trump judges because any selected by Hillary would likely tell them to keep their personal beliefs at home, where they belong.  At least for now, until the government tells you that you can’t have them at home, either.
