I’m a (R) Female Trump Voter and I Make Fantastic Salads!
No, we’re not finished with Trump Derangement outrage over the champion Clemson Tigers fast-food faux pas. Apparently, the women of CNN found President Trump’s announcement of what’s for dinner disgustingly sexist. Take a look.
“Sometimes what people say when they think they’re being funny exposes exactly who they are and what they think.” Yehehehessss — that works for CNN hostesses (see what I did there?) expressing disgust at “women making salads,” too.
Hey ladies, the subtext of your outrage at President Trump’s “sexism” goes something like this — it’s beneath women to make salads — to feed and take care of men — even if they’re national champions. Maybe especially if they’re manly national champions!
Well, I’ve got (real) news for the CNN hostess. I’d take that job! I make salads Mr. C is delighted to eat. He even asks for them! This is the same guy whose idea of “salad” when we met was iceberg lettuce, cheese, and enough Ranch dressing to float the contents of the bowl. Maybe I should send CNN Hostess my recipes.
Men and women — mothers and fathers — are not interchangeable. We are complementary! Mr. C brings home the bacon and I put it in the salad. It’s a good life. Stop with the contempt already.

Bacon in the salad?
Back in the day, I used to do a lot of cooking and was pretty good at it, oft praised for my bouillabaisse and coq au vin. After we got married, my wife summarily threw me out of the kitchen. Talk about sexist!
First of all salads are highly inefficient. When you’re done… you’ve eaten leaves. Salads are for taste alone not energy or satiety.
But my wife makes a great salad and people even ask for the recipe. Of course, these are the same people who ask for the recipe for her coffee.
And I make a good German salad, great when it’s still fresh and hot.
And as for Caesar dressing who’d have ever thought sardines, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and raw egg would ever go together?
If you wanna stay in my good graces, don’t share CNN videos. ;-)
It is almost sad to contemplate how joyless and miserable these progressives lives must be – almost.
One of President Trump’s many attributes: bilocation – his ability to be present in the White House and also be living in the head of a liberal at any given time.
They say he’s multifocal. I don’t know what that means, but I think it’s probably something pretty bad.
What rubbish! These people are crazy.
When I finished watching the video, YouTube popped up with nine other videos I might like to watch. So I clicked the one below from the 2013 Obama shutdown when the country still had a sense of humor:
When I look at Donald and Melania, I have no doubt which one eats more salads and which one eats more burgers. I also have no doubt that Melania is often pushing Donald to eat more salads and fewer burgers.
So maybe it wasn’t a racist thing after all (I know, but now everything is racist) but a simple observation of their wives choices.
I came to the conclusion that anyone having an opinion on what the White House served for these football players is suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Those that screamed about it being unhealthy, and those screaming that it was a fantastic choice.
I am completely done with Trump discussions – both for and against.
Ok, so you hate women and are actively trying to set the women’s movement back a 100 years. But then, by putting bacon in salads you are sending out a dog whistle that you also hate Muslims, PETA, and Jews (we’ll give you a pass on the last one)! Tsk, tsk.
Sincerely,
A Bunch of Reactionary Chicks from CNN
But how do you feel about … say, dijonnaise?!
No one’s asking for recipes? Sheesh, must be a buncha saladphobes.
Don’t you even want to know which salad I would serve the National Champion Clemson Tigers??
I don’t know if it’s related, but his ability to “trigger” all the right people by simply breathing is a power worthy of an X-Man or Avenger. Maybe we could call it flaking?
By the way. I forgot to ask. What salad might you serve the National Champion Clemson Tigers? And what’s the recipe??
I would start with some romaine and field greens in light balsamic vinaigrette and top that off with a few BigMacs, served with a Quarter Pounders with Cheese and a few slices of pizza on the side.
A Cuban (cultural appropriation!). Start with a nice crisp Romaine, add diced ham, diced Swiss, chopped tomatoes, croutons, some dried oregano smashed between your palms to release the flavor, a little salt, a generous amount of fresh cracked pepper, red wine vinegar and olive oil. Hearty and delicious.*
Thanks for asking.
*I’m leaving out my secret seasoning. It’s proprietary. You’ll have to pay. ;-)
But they do!
One of our favorite bumper stickers seen in Texas:
Although I did just have a salad for lunch (that I made, though I did start with a packaged salad greens mix to which I added chicken, pecorino Romano cheese, and anchovies (lots of anchovies!)).
I always thought they were a dressing delivery system.
Sounds good, but I’m pretty sure the team bus would be stopping at McDonalds on the ride home
Actually, that sound pretty good. I’d eat that.
A touch of Seville orange juice with the rind gratings? :)
Hmmm – you’re close to the right flavor profile.
How do those CNN heads know that Melania didn’t offer? So full of assumptions and judgement those people are!
Would you even tell me if I guessed? :)
I would. But, you’ll never guess. :-)
