The Upside of a Hillary Administration

In the lemons-to-lemonade spirit, Ctlaw has offered a post inviting us to ponder what might be amusing about a Trump presidency …

So I figured I’d try the same for Hillary: what would be not-so-bad or even downright good, or at least hilarious about a Hillary presidency?

For the sake of brevity, I’ll get this one out of the way: She’s not Trump and will #Never[be]Trump.

My other suggestion is simply that if Hillary is sworn in, we can stop fussing about The First Female President, and maybe? maybe? Dare I hope? take a step toward evaluating all candidates based on the content of their characters rather than the contents of their abdominal cavities.

Are there any remaining big Bill Clinton initiatives that are now verboten on the Left? Obama tore down DOMA and Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, which were big achievements during the Clinton administration, but now you can’t support. It would be funny to watch the Left cheer Hillary tearing down one of Bill’s now doubleplus ungood, achievements.

They’re already dumping the crime bill (which probably saved thousands of young, black, male lives) and welfare reform, right?

I think you’re right. The two I listed were what came to mind as I was typing.

“The Democratic candidate described interactions she has had on the campaign trail where men have told her they never thought they could support a woman for president until she came along. “That’s a big step forward,” she said.

Why am I extremely skeptical that such conversations ever took place? Are there really Democratic men in this D & A who would really say, to a woman’s face,  “I never thought I could vote for a woman?”  This is Saint Hillary defeating the straw man, a story of faux-bias so she can claim to bring faux-progress.

    AKA bulls***.

See now, I think Obama probably worked out about as well from a conservative POV as a white liberal president would have (though, in fairness, Charles Murray seems to think Hillary would have been better or at least less disastrous, at least on foreign policy). Given that, I’m happy to celebrate this evidence that a black man can be elected president, and since I think that was a thicker glass ceiling than the one Hillary claims to be butting her dyed-blond head against, I’m glad it broke.

To the extent that Hillary is going to be a first, I wish she was someone I could feel even a little celebratory about. It’s not just that she is skeezie; she’s also Wife-Of. So even if/when she takes office, we won’t have elected the first female to become president without first hooking herself to the right guy.

Incidentally—are there really rumors that she’s a lesbian? Real ones, or just the usual “I’ll bet she’s a dyke” stuff?

Maybe, it’s because I’m an 80’s kid but I really don’t care about the, this is the first female this or the first black that. No one seems to note that if Bernie got elected he’s be the first Jewish president. Or if Ted Cruz got elected he’s be the first hispanic president. No one cared that Colon Powell was the first black secretary or state or that Condo Rice was the first black female sec of state. That stuff only seems to matter on the left.

It could definitely be because you’re an 80’s kid. My children (80s-90s kids) didn’t really get it either. You grew up in a very different world—which by the way is a really cool thing. You were raised with a much more open mind, one which the left for some reason seems hell-bent on closing. It’s disturbing.

But yes—as a 60’s kid, I found Obama’s election miraculous (especially since I knew black people, cops mainly, who didn’t vote for him because they aren’t liberals—that just made it better!) I also, paradoxically, believed that the election of a black American president was inevitable. And I do notice that Bernie is Jewish —another “that’ll never happen” thing that was probably guaranteed to happen eventually…

The attitude of your generation isn’t just fine—it’s exactly what MLK was hoping for. Not just that “the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaveowners would sit down at the table of brotherhood together” but that none of them would think it was a big deal to do so.

    Carry on, my child!

Well, and what is awful to me—since I feel strongly that black lives matter—is that the police reform and prison reform stuff is (I think) a cynical gambit by those who are willing to throw the black men, women and children who live (and die) in the inner cities under the bus rather than honestly address the issues  making their lives so nasty, brutal and short.

Hillary Clinton is not representative of what a successful career woman should be like.  Yes, she made it through law school, but her gig as part of the Nixon impeachment team ended in disgrace.  The only reason she got her job at the Rose Law firm in Arkansas was because of the man she married – Bill Clinton.  Once in the White House as First Lady, she botched the “job” her husband gave her – Hillarycare.  Obama was at least skilled enough to move Obamacare through the system (much to our suffering since).  I don’t even have to mention her long-standing role as Bill’s womanizing enabler, the most horrific episode being the rape of Kathleen Willey.  Fast forward to her use of an unsecure server, and the grave damage (see the definition of “Top Secret”) she has put this country in.

No, Hillary Clinton will use the Presidency to feather her nest even more, at the expense of making this entire country another failed experiment of liberal policies.  Eight years of BHO was terrible enough to endure, but I shudder at the thought of this woman as Commander in Chief (if only Carly had stayed in).  Her foreign policy will make us all of us as vulnerable as her four Benghazi victims.  We may as well start learning to speak Chinese, Russian, or Farsi.

Hillary Clinton would be a disaster as President – unless it’s the President of Cell Block C . . .

Bill apparently told at least one of his lovers, Gennifer Flowers, that Hillary was bisexual.

You are confusing lesbianism with Sharia Law. When traveling without a male relative, Huma must remain in the company of another woman.

Oh really we are gonna listen to what Bill told a mistress in regards to his/his wifes sex life?  There are plenty of things to focus on in regards to the Clintons.  Their supposed sex life shouldn’t be one of them….
