The Upside of a Hillary Administration
In the lemons-to-lemonade spirit, Ctlaw has offered a post inviting us to ponder what might be amusing about a Trump presidency …
So I figured I’d try the same for Hillary: what would be not-so-bad or even downright good, or at least hilarious about a Hillary presidency?
For the sake of brevity, I’ll get this one out of the way: She’s not Trump and will #Never[be]Trump.
My other suggestion is simply that if Hillary is sworn in, we can stop fussing about The First Female President, and maybe? maybe? Dare I hope? take a step toward evaluating all candidates based on the content of their characters rather than the contents of their abdominal cavities.

We’ll be rid of Trump forever, but at a terrible cost, one that is too high to pay in my opinion.
(She will be the first woman president but she’ll be another first as well, if the rumors are true. So maybe that’s a another small positive: getting both of those “firsts” out of the way at the same time, forever.)
We said the same thing about the First Black President in 2008. It only got worse.
She could get the idea that her reelection chances are improved if she runs as a widow.

I think him being a former President will insulate him from most ridicule in this vein.
The Clintons can return all the silverware and ‘W’ keyboard keys they stole on their way out last time when they move back into the White House.
Are there any remaining big Bill Clinton initiatives that are now verboten on the Left? Obama tore down DOMA and Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, which were big achievements during the Clinton administration, but now you can’t support. It would be funny to watch the Left cheer Hillary tearing down one of Bill’s now doubleplus ungood, achievements.
When the whole house of cards collapses, which it will soon I’m sure, a Democrat will be in office. Meaning it’ll be her fault. Hooray!
Oh sure, she’ll blame the Republican Congress if we haven’t lost that, and George W. Bush, but she’ll be in office. She’ll get the lion’s share of the blame.
One struggles to come up with any positive or funny aspect of the election of a traitorous, criminal, corrupt America-hating shrew as president.
Perhaps watching the media and especially the feminists cover for her inevitable investigations and accusations and overt influence peddling and graft.
None of which would amuse me enough to atone for having to hear the cackle for eight more years.
I wonder, can American physicians practice in Ireland? One hears that the Emerald Isle is becoming more conservative, and therefore fluorishing…
Boy, how low can the bar be set?
We’ll find out!
Oh man you beat me to it. Yes we have seen that affirmative action presidents usually don’t work out very well.
When Putin challenges her to personal combat, she can chose Sumo as the method.
I have been waiting since I was a kid to get our government issued jumpsuits like people would wear in movies about the future. We could have color coded pantsuits to show our social standing.
Holy Cow. You mean middle-aged white women will be rioting in the streets and burning down the drugstores within six years of her inauguration? No—but they could, in theory, get more resentful when life as a middle-class, middle-aged white woman still doesn’t seem quite perfect…?
I can’t even joke about it. The best I can come up with is that it might motivate me to tune out politics completely and spend more time with good books and music, which might be a very good thing.
They’re already dumping the crime bill (which probably saved thousands of young, black, male lives) and welfare reform, right?
Those resentful white middle class, middle- aged women can do a lot of damage, just in a different way. The third wave feminist movement has already done so.
I don’t think it will be eight years. For what that’s worth?

“Gentleman” in the same sense as “Gentlemen’s Clubs” found in the seedy part of town.
The left will tear itself apart.
No, really.
The left, after 8 years of Obama, is doing the same thing we were doing in ’07-’08: thinking that what the country needs is more of the same, only stronger. Witness the rise of BLM, the idiocy on college campuses, ~45% support of Bernie Sanders, etc. They’re going off the deep end.
Clinton won’t be able to govern like they want. Even if Trump takes us down to historic lows, and we lose the Presidency, Senate, and even *gasp* the House, all those new House members will want to win re-election. Like the ’09-’10 House, Clinton will get one or two big initiatives through, but very little else. Clinton will also be faced with a world on fire that makes the isolationism the left desires impossible.
And the left will tear itself apart over the domestic failures and foreign-policy “adventurism”. They’ve already convinced themselves that Obama is a huge sellout, and started purging anyone who doesn’t tow the line on any one of their many new issues. Clinton won’t be as popular as Obama, given her lack of charisma. If she wins in ’16 she’ll face a credible primary challenger in ’20, guaranteed. Most of the Dem House will face the same in ’18, then get routed in the general ’18.
It would be sort of funny to watch the presidency age her 30+ years until she vaguely resembles evil Bilbo Baggins from that one scene in Fellowship of the Ring. Well, at least I would find it funny…
We can look forward to Zach Galifianakis interviewing her and asking her what it’s like to be the last female President.

Can’t wait until Thanksgiving. One turkey being pardoned by another turkey.
See now, I think Obama probably worked out about as well from a conservative POV as a white liberal president would have (though, in fairness, Charles Murray seems to think Hillary would have been better or at least less disastrous, at least on foreign policy). Given that, I’m happy to celebrate this evidence that a black man can be elected president, and since I think that was a thicker glass ceiling than the one Hillary claims to be butting her dyed-blond head against, I’m glad it broke.
To the extent that Hillary is going to be a first, I wish she was someone I could feel even a little celebratory about. It’s not just that she is skeezie; she’s also Wife-Of. So even if/when she takes office, we won’t have elected the first female to become president without first hooking herself to the right guy.
Incidentally—are there really rumors that she’s a lesbian? Real ones, or just the usual “I’ll bet she’s a dyke” stuff?
Yup. I think this is plausible. This is one reason to hope Trump loses—so that the left can tear itself to bits while the right pulls itself together.
Kate,
Of course, an HRC Presidency would have just untold fun filled moments. Say, for instance, that Ellen sends her “specialists” to the White House to give Hillary a makeover. Just think of the great ratings. Nothing says ratings like lesbians and makeovers.
I can’t wait.
Regards,
Jim
We could enjoy the spectacle of a President pardoning herself…
Maybe, it’s because I’m an 80’s kid but I really don’t care about the, this is the first female this or the first black that. No one seems to note that if Bernie got elected he’s be the first Jewish president. Or if Ted Cruz got elected he’s be the first hispanic president. No one cared that Colon Powell was the first black secretary or state or that Condo Rice was the first black female sec of state. That stuff only seems to matter on the left.

“Clinton won’t be able to govern like they want” No truer words are spoken. I don’t think she realizes what she is walking into. The Left is moving farther to the left, off the stratosphere in fact. She won’t be to contain the leftover Bernie crazies. She thinks she has problems with the vast right wing conspiracy now, just wait until she gives her lefties all they want, they will want more.
