I’ve never understood why liberated, empowered women had to cling to the government–really, many other taxpayers–to underwrite a cost of their sexual activity. Why, instead, aren’t they charging a user fee from the real stakeholders–their male partners? Put a coffee can or a piggy bank on the nightstand or on a stand outside the bedroom. Tape a sign to it announcing, “User fee $X” or “Admission $X.” With the launch sequence already activated, I doubt there will be any quibbling over the price. And what do men know about the actual cost of contraception? An enterprising woman could conceivably turn this activity into a profit center. For male partners, it would be considered a part of the cost of a date.
In 2012 Glenn Beck visited the Vatican – he spoke with Cardinal Dolan of NY, and others – he and his wife were invited to dinner – he said when there was a language barrier with the priests he just said “Liberation Theology”. They understood and held up theirs palms of their hand – they said NO! Cardinal Dolan said the church will never give in. Again, watch the videos – this is 3 years ago – he visited Greece. It was on fire then. Then came the Arab Spring.

The attack on the nuns is but one in many on everything holy. I once heard a priest say, “Take out Christians, take out Jews and clergy, the devil’s goal. The rest will be a piece of cake”. We are witnessing that attack. The cardinals told him they will risk jail, they will not compromise. This administration is forcing people in many areas to compromise their conscience, from bakers, to Catholic caregivers, pitting law enforcement against communities.
I feel like there is a goal to divide, not unite. Black vs. white, rich vs. poor, religious vs. secular, gay vs. straight. Our allies can’t count on us and live with fear, our enemies smirk. Everyone used to be able to be who they were, quietly without recrimination. Now it’s in your face, hostility everywhere and very sad. Didn’t Obama receive the Nobel Peace Prize? Where’s the peace?
