LA Dodgers Ignore Baseball to Focus on Repenting for Their Sins
The clip below is from a fascinating article on FoxNews – please read the whole thing. As you may recall, the Los Angeles Dodgers invited “The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” to appear at their LGBTQWTF night, in their ongoing efforts to educate the community of Los Angeles about baseball. Then the Dodgers were reminded that a huge part of their fan base is Hispanic Catholics who don’t appreciate the open ridicule of that group, so they un-invited them. Well, you will not be surprised to learn that after further reflection, the Dodgers have changed their mind again:
My goodness. Those must have been some meetings. So after “generous discussions with The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,” the Dodgers are pleased that the Sisters “have agreed to receive the gratitude of our collective communities for the lifesaving work that they have done tirelessly for decades.”
Wow.
The picture in the article shows a sample of the work they have been doing tirelessly for decades. It looks different than the work I’ve done over the course of my career. Different type of thing, I guess.
There’s so much here. But I can’t get past the “generous discussions with The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.” The Dodgers say they are thankful that The Sisters deigned to meet with them. Chairman Mao would be proud.
This is not about gay issues. It’s not about abortion. It’s not even about the Catholic faith. And it certainly is not about baseball, which is what the LA Dodgers used to be focused on. It’s not about any of those things.
It’s about power. That’s it.
Chairman Mao would be proud.
If this doesn’t scare you, you’re not paying attention.

Marcus Stroman pitched a complete game for the Cubs 1-0 victory on Memorial Day. The game time was 2:05. Yeah, it has picked things up in terms of pace.
Note that it’s London.
Now it’s a gay person’s sport.
C’mon, baseball fans! Do a Bud Light! You don’t NEED to go to a game.
Make the MLB panic!
This is the great mystery to me. If public ‘commitment to [cause]’ actually made a business/institution twitter mob-proof I could see value in the signaling, but if anything it only makes them more vulnerable.
When people goof off by the water cooler, we ask, ‘don’t they have work to be doing?’
Why are businesses goofing off on twitter and in press releases? Don’t they have business to attend to?
Cost of spiking the football.
I’ve seen a few of these on Twitter recently:
I dont think MLB makes its money at the gate anymore.
Look at the proposals for new stadiums, they’re much smaller than the current crop of ‘new’ stadiums. The Las Vegas stadium for the Oakland A’s will only seat 30 000 fans…
Oakland only uses about 16% of its current capacity for the average game. With an average ticket price of $100…
The teams with the highest attendance … SD, ATL, LAD – with a near 90% of capacity attendance… Maybe this is why they think they can afford to offend a lot of their fan base… They think they can take the attendance hit.
Believe me, I was just thinking the same thing!
I heard you had to take a special elevator only accessible through a hatch in the middle of Lot M. It takes you down five floors to a special room underneath the right-field foul post. ☺☺
You know the answer to that Ekosj. The Dodger management are moral cowards. That’s why they’re having the Indulgent Sisters and why they would never ever insult any aspect of Islam.
smart, gay, tamayto, tomahto….
I’m telling George Will on you guys!
I don’t understand this part at all, Doc. My impression is that you’re wrong, and I cannot understand why you would make this argument.
Sure, it’s about power. What power? The power of the perverts over the Catholics. It is the exercise of power in the service of perversion, to demoralize and denigrate Catholicism.
I may be wrong about your intention with this statement. I can tell you the impression that it gives me. It gives me the impression that you think that “power” is wrong.
If this is what you mean, then I disagree. Power is good when used for good purposes, and evil when used for evil purposes. Power itself is neutral. It is a tool.
Sorry, that was poorly worded.
What I meant was that leftist movements are more about leftism than the ostensible motivations of the protestors.
The climate change movement is about consolidation of power for the left.
The COVID shutdowns were about consolidation of power for the left.
Black Lives Matter was about consolidation of power for the left.
Trans-sexual baseball games are about consolidation of power for the left.
Teachers’ Union protests are about consolidation of power for the left.
Those things may seem like they have nothing to do with each other. But they are actually a unified front.
Those leftist movements are not about climate or black lives or whatever. They’re just about consolidation of power for the left. That’s it.
They go after Christians because if they insulted Hasidic Jews they would be sued and if they went after Muslims they would be beheaded. Christians have Jesus Christ who forgives his enemies. Which is generally a good thing but I don’t like it when someone abuses another’s goodness.
There’s always the other 161 other games🙄🙄🙄
It is. What’s sad is it took so long to fix.
In the United States, it’s called “ Las Vegas”😎😎😎😎
🤮
EDIT: Wrong thread!
If they’re going to have a Catholic expression in the name of inclusion and diversity, why not have a bishop come down, and a bunch of actual nuns, and have a celebration of life, and America and all her virtues, and bless baseball as an expression of freedom? Let the Sisters of Indulgence have their slot, wedged in between the prayer for the fallen soldiers and the benediction for the future generations, or something? Let them say their piece, patiently show what they’ve got. Then abruptly cut off their mic and move to a solemn remembrance of something or other. Then turn it back to baseball, with all nuns, priests, bishops, and the rest enthusiastically cheering for the game, an expression of all that’s good about a free people.
The freaks got to show up, they were politely heard and endured, and then hustled off the stage so we could see the rest of the pageant of the American miracle.
Maybe the contrast is all that is needed.
Yikes! Can’t they just send them over here, let 100,000 small farmers raise them for all the benefits of having a cow? I mean, we shut down fracking and petroleum production here and let some other turbaned people somewhere else on the same planet take up the slack (resulting in zero difference to the planet).
Id be willing to take a couple of Irish cows.
Wholesomeness is so last century.
Went to put on a clip of Joe Rogan yesterday for my HS senior. He relayed that Joe Rogan is just about pushed into the fringe with his classmates. He’s like the Proud Boys now, a boogey man deserving of daily two minutes of hate, or worse.
Yes, Joe Rogan. I’m not so sure there is a normal anymore that any if us would recognize. We’d better get to work rebuilding now, retakingvwhatever instituions are still salvageable.
This was supposed to go elsewhere.
And this was totally the wrong thread.
He sure has been quiet lately.
