Walking Through the Titanic

Here’s a video walkthrough of a highly-detailed virtual reconstruction of the Titanic…(the Titanic as it was before its encounter with the iceberg that is).  The digital model will be downloadable so that users can explore the virtual vessel on their own, about 50% of it is already in place.  (I’ve only skimmed the video and haven’t yet tried downloading the model)

The video reminded me of a post I wrote in 2022 about certain aspects of the Titanic disaster that can serve as useful metaphors for our current political and social situation–specifically the telegraph message Working Cape Race and the nautical engineering concept of Progressive Flooding.  The link is here: Titanic Metaphors.

Great, great work on the video reconstruction!

Loved your Titanic Metaphors!  I, too, did a post about the 110th anniversary of the sinking.  And, I, too, included the masterful Onion piece    https://ricochet.com/1124894/saturday-night-radio-109/

It’s a game, right? Honor & Glory. I’ve been watching those updates for some time. They’re extraordinary.
