Only Experts Can Be This Dumb

This is really quite a remarkable video wherein Joe Scarborough says the Gospel of Jesus Christ is pro-abortion. How did we ever become this stupid? Mika looks on in awe thinking that Joe just destroyed the pro-life movement. It boggles the mind.

Joe Biden was right that there is a battle for the soul of the nation.

Satan seems to be winning on the Left: they have satanists, dog-fetishists, and a mentally deranged man who thinks he is a woman in positions of consequence and they are all-in on killing babies.

And to think that the man who leads the Left and leads this sick movement claims to be Catholic.

I agree with the substance of the post. Thanks, Scott.

I disagree with the title. It seems to me that non-experts are also capable of extreme stupidity, and wickedness.

Except non experts aren’t going around credibly claiming authority over which they speak.

With power comes responsibility. I have no power, my credentials have no authority. You do. So you being an idiot carries far more weight than me being an idiot.

Things Jesus never explicitly condemned, so must be okay:

    1. Ending capital gains taxes
    2. Incest
    3. Internet gambling
    4. Strip clubs
    5. Pineapple on pizza
    6. The Senate filibuster
    7. Wearing white after Labor Day
    8. Nukes
    9. Matt Walsh
    10. Mentally incompetent Presidents

There may be a few more…

Hey Eustace. I’m not a theology major but Jesus probably covered #4 in Matthew 5:28, But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

I don’t know about the rest of you folks here at Ricochet but when I went to some of those “Gentlemens Clubs” in Atlanta, I had plenty of lust in my heart.

But, no big deal; anyone remember Jimmy Carter?

But what about those who attend only for the artistic merits of the dancers? Not lusting at all, nope, nope.

Faith and begorra, it’s just Terpsichora.

Did someone tell tell Joe what Jesus thought about coveting thy neighbor’s wife? Mika’s ex-husband would have comments on this

Always interesting when non-Christians try to tell believers what they should think. And his logic is, “Jesus never said it was bad.” Same is true of child rape so . . .

I usually make suicide bombings my example.

Are Joe and Mika practicing Christians, of any non-heretical denomination? If not, who cares what they say? (I bet they wouldn’t presume to lecture Hindus on what their religion teaches.)

Have Joe and Mika ever actually read the Bible? Or are they just reciting talking points.

    The latter, I am guessing.

Did JoeNBC have anything to say about the souls of the aborted babies?

I guess, according to JoeNBC, Jesus also favored cannibalism since He didn’t mention that, either. It takes a great mind to host a program on the MSM.

I was going to mention cannibalism, but you beat me to it. I don’t believe Jesus said anything about rape, child abuse – we can easily make a list of heinous crimes that Jesus did not specifically condemn. He did mention divorce..

    I beg to differ:

1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. (St. Luke 17:1-2)

I’ve always thought of that in broad terms, in that it would include leading children astray, whereas physical abuse is what I specifically had in mind. But fair enough – and if Joe concedes that Jesus’s words have authority, shouldn’t Joe be against the transgender ideology being taught to children?

    Yes, he should.

I’ll bet Scott had this famous Orwell quote in the back of his mind:

“One has to belong to the intelligentsia to believe things like that: no ordinary man could be such a fool.”
    Notes on Nationalism

And just for the heck of it:

“…intellectuals are more totalitarian in outlook than the common people… Most of them are perfectly ready for dictatorial methods, secret police, systematic falsification of history etc. so long as they feel that it is on ‘our’ side.”

Those are very good @paulstinchfield thank you for posting them.

But what really got me thinking of my words for the title of my post was this idiotic tweet from Fr. James Martin referencing “a renowned biblical scholar”, aka “an expert” and the ridiculous argument he makes. Listening to Joe Scarborough reminded me of this and hence the title.
