From ‘Make America Great Again’ to ‘Cope With Being Poor’ in One Election Cycle

Bloomberg has some helpful hints for coping with runaway Bidenflation and Bidenfuelshortages. It basically involves cutting back on buying things that are getting too expensive. (Where would we be without experts, am I right?) And, strangely enough, the exploding cost of fuel under Biden should force us into driving less, getting rid of our cars, and switching to unreliable, union-staffed public transportation just like the environmental extremists have been pushing for years.

To deal with gas prices, it’s worth reconsidering public transportation if it’s an option where you live. Fares are up about 8% compared with 38% for gasoline. Now may even be the time to sell your car.

Also, hopefully, you aren’t too terribly fond of your household pets.

If you’re one of the many Americans who became a new pet owner during the pandemic, you might want to rethink those costly pet medical needs.

Also, switch from meat to lentils as an intermediate step between our meat-enjoying past and our bug-eating “you will own nothing and be happy” future.

Tasty meat substitutes include vegetables (where prices are up a little over 4%, or lentils and beans, which are up about 9%). Plan to cut out the middle creature and consume plants directly. It’s a more efficient, healthier and cheaper way to get calories.

The author probably doesn’t realize that beans and lentils depend on hydrocarbon intensive fertilizers and planting/harvesting machines.  She has a Ph.D. in Economics from Berkeley and is on the Board of a Left-Wing Think Tank.

I have been told by the Biden administration that I should consider public transportation because of gas prices. While not thrilled by this option I understand I need to do my part. Strangely google maps transportation say I can not get to my work from my home.

That’s why they say everyone has to live in the big cities. Even the farmers, I guess.

Oddly I do live in a metro area

Well sometimes when I lived in the Phoenix area people would think “you can’t get there from here” but in fact you could, it might just take 2 or 3 hours each way with transfers, etc.

Actually the answer surprised me. When I checked COVID it was an 8 hour trip each way. I gather some connections no longer exist.

Routes sometimes get reduced – fewer trips per day – or removed entirely, if usage is low.  But I suppose that if “everyone” will be using them in the future, more trips will have to be added.  Using buses that have to be made with chips from Taiwan to reduce emissions, which means they can’t be made…  Isn’t Leftism wonderful?

This is especially true when an economy gets to a hyperinflation. Choosing buses and subways over taxis is an important way to save, because the former modes of transportation collect fares at the start of the trip, and taxis collect at the end.

You’re right. Could be noticeable  savings right there.

Our local TV news has a spot every day with these “tips” that you could not possibly come up with on your own. They say they get them from Nerdwallet. I would never think of spending less to save some money. That’s only for idiots.

Of course they don’t believe that. Just ask Creepy Joe, who is still claiming – through Jen Psaki – that spending MORE is required to save money and bring inflation down.

They know so much better how to spend your money than you do, don’tcha know?

No advice on how the government can get along with less money?

Easy.  First eliminate Local, state and Federal government jobs that have a net negative impact, then those that  just waste lots  of money and are unnecessary.  That’d be a good 90 percent reduction.

Can you elaborate on the map comment? I’m wondering the following:

Could Google be changing what comes up on GPS to re-route people deliberately?  This was a suggestion from the World Economic Forum in that pandemic video……..to get people to stop driving…….

Does anyone notice how all these very intense world events are producing exactly what the WEF wants? Oil and gas shortages, less driving, no one can afford anything, skyrocketing meat prices – find an alternative, the list goes on and on…..?

I am seeing more cyber warnings coming up – and they’re getting ready to blame Russia – could this be the next “re-set” the financial sector and they have all the answers of course – federal crypto-currency…..

Map is easy.  Go to Google map and select start and destination points.  There is a selection for travel method.  Drive, walk, fly, public transportation

Also bicycle. For purposes of personal amusement only. You should see some of the so-called roads it has led me to.

I’ve used the public transport option when planning travel in Europe. It can be helpful but it’s best not to rely on its accuracy.

Not sure about it accuracy but if I go to the local public transit site they use google maps to figure out their information.

Of course, how many lentils will you have to eat to feel the same degree of fullness you would get from a hamburger? Aren’t they rather small? Also, what to do with the end product of eating so much of those vegetables and lentils: methane, doncha know?

Ya know lentils (legumes) according to some Doctors are a serious cause of Leaking Gut Syndrome  and are to be avoided at all cost.  But Hey, ya know we all have to sacrifice for the good of the The Great Reset Revolution! Don’t we? Here in LA where a bus drive across town can take a mere 4 hours if you are lucky,   public transportation should be of course the preferred mode of transportation, particularly when Uncle Joe Biden’s gas prices  are approaching $6.50 a gallon. But we also can all thank our great Supreme Leader for reducing LA’s traffic so drastically because so many now can longer afford to drive. Yea!!!!!

Let’s be honest.  Lentils are just a bridge product.  Eventually they will get to bugs.   They are really into bugs for the masses.

I don’t think so. Bugs and cows are at the same level on the food chain so it takes about the same amount of energy to make a pound of bugs as a pound of hamburger.

    That’s assuming we’re talking about plant-eating bugs.

    Not necessarily.

    CONVERSION OF FOOD INTO PROTEIN

First of all, crickets require about 12 times less food than beef for the same edible weight gain. In fact, 2.4kg of fodder (food given to cattle) are necessary to produce 100g of beef, against 200g of food for crickets.

    cricket vs beef

    And:

Currently we use several different types of feed formulations. Their composition varies based on the age of the cricket. We use feed that’s very similar to chicken feed, containing a mix of grains and flours but we are also testing formulations that have a substantial proportion of biowaste.

We know that crickets can convert feed into edible weight more efficiently than chickens. And we think it should be possible to have a feed made up of 100 % biowaste. It will just take our research and development team some time. Currently, we are testing agricultural waste streams like grains from breweries or fruit waste from juice producers.
