BLM: Mostly Peaceful
From the article:
The head of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York met with Eric Adams, the city’s mayor-elect, to discuss policing and warned that there will be “bloodshed” if the city returns to its pre-De Blasio model, according to a report.
And:
“If he thinks that they’re going to go back to the old ways of policing, then we are going to take to the streets again. There will be riots, there will be fire and there will be bloodshed because we believe in defending our people,” Newsome told the paper. He said that the group prays for peace but prepares “for the worst.”
You know, it’s almost as if going easy on last summer’s protesters emboldened them. (Satire filter set to on.)
Craven city leaders from coast to coast let protesters run wild, and now they threaten the cities with more violence. The only way out of this downward spiral is massive crackdown on any protests that result in violence, including wanton destruction of property. Mayor-elect Evans knocked out all the candidates who were weak on crime, and yet this BLM leader didn’t get the message. What really stinks is that the people who suffer the most from this abandonment of public order are the people progressives claim to care about — the poor. (I know — progressives don’t really care about the poor, but they think they do.)

“We keep on electing those that want open borders.” Who is this “we” you speak of, Kemosabe? Obviously not all segments of society.
It might perhaps be more accurate to say that the American people tend to elect politicians who are unwilling to wade through the shitstorm of racism accusations that opposing open borders entails. One of the reasons why Donald Trump is indispensable, perhaps.
People vote for candidates, not policies. Democrat voters in particular vote, not as citizens, but as members of special interest groups. This helps explain how Democrats can do a terrible job in California but get reelected anyway: as long as the special interests get their goodies. Furthermore, many Democrat voters are poor, ignorant, and easily led by their corrupt “community leaders”.
People seem to have forgotten that GW Bush, as GOPe as they come, was forced to back down on his amnesty push by his Republican constituency. I remember even squishy Kay Bailey Hutchison helped stop it (I’m sure I was one of thousand who wrote emails to her.
Well, John McCain, every single Bush, Marco Rubio, Mitt Romney, and their sorts come to mind. Granted, Trump voters are largely immune to this criticism. Heh.
But the GOP is just chock-full of las amnestitas.
I remember just blowing a fuse when he tried to get us board by offering a tax cut, the dirty sock-plucker.
It’s a tricky balancing act. A lot of Latino voters agree with the Republican Party on most issues.
Except that they want their relatives to be able to get into the country!
And they can through sponsorship. If we could improve that process we might gain their hearts, because they don’t care for illegals either.
