Are the Texas Democrats in DC Getting Some Comeuppance?

It turns out that some of them who did not take any precautions on their journey, have tested positive for the Wuhan Coronavirus.

Three of the 60 Texas House Democrats tested positive for the virus while staying in Washington, D.C., according to Texas House Democratic Caucus leadership.

One of the members found out about their positive test late on Friday evening but did not have symptoms, officials say. All House members were notified of the positive tests and were all tested themselves immediately.

The caucus says that the two other members found out about their positive test on Saturday.

The members who tested positive will be forced to isolate themselves for 10 days.

Perhaps that is a good thing — they will infect only their fellow scofflaws.

Or was it that charter flight that I read some Texas elected official said they were sending to DC to fly them back?

I’m thinking charter flight, probably both ways.  None of the photos I’ve seen – including that other thread on Ricochet – looks like a commercial flight to me.

The Texas Democrats chartered one or two planes.  Getting all the fleeing legislators on scheduled commercial flights would be too difficult to do in the time they had available. The photos and the statements by their spokespeople suggest they the chartered planes are of the same type of 50 to 70 passenger regional jets used by many airlines for their short-haul flights. Commercial airlines charter out planes they don’t need for scheduled service, as do specialized charter operators. There seems to be some legal disagreement over whether FAA mask requirements apply to chartered flights.

Did I miss something?  Aren’t the Dims still saying that everyone should wear masks even if not specifically required by law?

Well the oxygen deprivation certainly explains their loss of brain cells.  Although they were lacking brain cells even before.
