Are the Texas Democrats in DC Getting Some Comeuppance?
It turns out that some of them who did not take any precautions on their journey, have tested positive for the Wuhan Coronavirus.
Three of the 60 Texas House Democrats tested positive for the virus while staying in Washington, D.C., according to Texas House Democratic Caucus leadership.
One of the members found out about their positive test late on Friday evening but did not have symptoms, officials say. All House members were notified of the positive tests and were all tested themselves immediately.
The caucus says that the two other members found out about their positive test on Saturday.
The members who tested positive will be forced to isolate themselves for 10 days.
Perhaps that is a good thing — they will infect only their fellow scofflaws.

Condign comeuppance, indeed.
I think we should test the testing.
The last time I heard any mention of such terms as “false positive” was back in the early days of the pandemic.
No test is 100%.
Of course! And every reporting agency defines “case” differently, so no two statistics can be compared. The Health Nazis hope you won’t notice, and will believe all their scare tactics.
Personally, I think the penalty for those who–especially en masse–voluntarily vacate the premises for no other reason than that they don’t choose to carry out the duties for which they were elected ought to be removed from office, and that that penalty should be codified in the proceedings of whatever legislature they belong to. It’s a disgrace.
They are suffering from acute stupidity. There’s no cure or vaccine for that.
I agree 100%.
No one in either party should behave like this, and if they flee to another state, members of their own party should assist in returning them. This is not OK. They are elected to do a job.
I would be surprised if there isn’t already some kind of procedure for replacing legislators who have died or otherwise vacated or abandoned the office. And that procedure should be invoked.
I thought Texas was already depopulated to a man after ignoring the Biden’s loving and tender admonitions to extend pandemic mandates ad eternum. (Pardon the…Latin?)
They’re trying to save face by claiming that all three were vaccinated.
They should have known better than to travel to a national plague spot. Didn’t have COVID in Texas, did they?
I prefer to ignore the issue, and I particularly do not like “conservatives” citing the Democratic legislators’ failure to wear masks on the airplanes, as it feeds the irrational mask narrative.
True, but Federal Regulations make masks mandatory on mass transportation, so we can note and mock their defiance of their precious government mandate.
Yes, and calling that “whataboutism” is just trying to cover for exposing the Dims’ (constant) hypocrisy.
It is the hypocrisy of Democrats about masks that needs to be cited.
“Masks for thee, but not for me.”
So if all the GOP left the US senate does that stop the vote? Will that be celebrated?
Jails have infirmaries.
But last I heard, jails were emptying out Because Covid.
If they already have it, no problemo.
But they wouldn’t be allowed in prison to protect others in prison who don’t have it yet. We’re not talking New York nursing homes, here!
But there are no others in prison because of Covid.
There are still guards and stuff, who presumably don’t already have covid, unless they’re all allowed to “work from home” somehow, at full pay…
So that means it’s ok for everyone to stop freaking out over the “case numbers” that are constantly being reported, right?
Of course. But then you have the weenies at the “modelers” based in Seattle, who are already calling for reinstating the state mask mandate due to a rise in “cases”. I can’t believe it, but Dictator Inslee says “we’re not going back”. I hope I never meet the IHME dude called Ali Mokdad. I might say something nasty.
Sounds like another case of vaccinated people being routinely tested, which shouldn’t be happening. Why were they even tested in the first place? Vaccine doesn’t stop you from testing positive. A positive test on a vaccinated person is not a breakthrough if there are no symptoms. It’s meaningless. Have to assume they’re vaccinated since they’re Democrats right? It says they have to quarantine 10 days because of the positive test. Really?
Well they might be inconsistent, but at least they’re consistently inconsistent.
While I don’t want to see anyone catch the virus or get sick from it, the schadenfreude I’m feeling right now is overwhelming . . .
First Republican strike: Dem Rep Joe Moody has been removed as speaker pro tempore. Baby steps….. at least it’s something.
