re: Chris Christie, Rob Long occasionally points out that when even a Chris Christie asks campaign consultants etc “should I run for President?” what they hear is “Should I pay you millions of dollars?” And the answer is ALWAYS “Yes!”
Who provides those millions?
Donors. Big ones, and little old ladies who send their cat food money to Chris Christie because they think he’ll turn things around.
As we have seen, the Democratic Party is so awash with cash, it meddles in Republican primaries.
As long as Chris Christie’s candidacy is useful to the Democrats, he will have plenty of resources.
Expect to hear a lot of Democratic talking points, slightly reworded.
The governor of West Virginia is well-known for not paying his bills. A typical story is that when he bought the Greenbrier Resort, Justice didn’t pay a small landscaping company for work it did at the resort. Several years later there were devastating rainstorms and flooding, and The Greenbrier was so anxious to get things fixed that they agreed to give the landscaping company a cashier’s check to guarantee payment for the new work. The crew shows up and gets out of the truck, the landscaping company owner is given the check, and after seeing that it was “good,” said “O.K. boys, get back in the truck” and drove away.
